Which characters have shown up the most in Capcom Pro Tour top 8s for Season 3.5? Which one character hasn't shown up at all? Let's analyze the data

Earlier this year, I did a comparison between Season 3.0 and Season 3.5's charage usage for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition using data from the big tournaments that had occured at the time.

This list was made shortly after CEO 2018, so it only really covered about half of the year at the time, and only a few months of Season 3.5 since it hit us right at the beginning of April.

The more data you have, the more accurate and interesting the findings tend to be, so this time we're going to expand on the Season 3.5 statistics and see just how much characters have shown up in top 8s across the year.

We're not going to repeat the Season 3.0 statistics since the comparison doesn't matter as much at this point, and there was a pretty small sample base to draw from, but if you're interested in what Season 3.0 looked like, you can just check back with the previous piece from early July.

For context, this will be a pure presentation of data, and isn't implying anything about character strength or their usage. Any character showing up in a top 8, even if it's only for one match, is counted, meaning that this is purely a representation of how often characters are seen in top 8s of Capcom Pro Tour events.

Characters are only counted if they were used in top 8. For example, if someone used Akuma the whole way to get to top 8 but picked only Guile for the entire top 8, that will only count as Guile inside of a top 8, so these statistics are 100% based on top 8 appearances and nothing else.

Every single Capcom Pro Tour event of Season 3.5 will be counted, meaning that I'll be using the data from the last article as a base and add on to it every event that's happened since then. Now, without further ado, let's have a look at the statistics of Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition's current balance patch, and how it's shaken out competitively.
