Genesis 5 results ft Armada, Hungrybox, Mango, Salem, Nairo

Perhaps the biggest Smash event of them all is taking place this weekend in Oakland, California.

That's right, Genesis is back with Genesis 5, and it's as big as ever.

With 1365 entrants for Super Smash Bros. Melee and 674 entrants for Super Smash Bros. 4, this really is the type of event where anyone who's anyone is going to be there.

Frosty Faustings X results ft. SonicFox, LostSoul, MarlinPie, Punk, ElvenShadow

One of the biggest North American events for Guilty Gear is happening this weekend, namely Frosty Faustings X, in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Of course, this isn't just a Guilty Gear-focused event, far from it. There'll be tons of games played here, including the first major Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition tournament .

Liga Brasileira de Street Fighter results ft. DidimoKOF, Stunner, Paulow3b and BabyBrasil

With Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition freshly released just this week, there hasn't been that much top level footage yet.

Thankfully, this weekend is bringing it in spades, not just at Frosty Faustings X and Genesis 5, but also at Liga Brasileira de Street Fighter, the first Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition event in Latin America.

This event features four of the best players in the region, more specifically AAG|DidimoKOF, SL|Stunner, Paulow3b and AAG|BabyBrasil.

They'll face eachother in a double elimination bracket, so you'll get to see high-level action right off the bat.

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 Tenkaichi Budokai results ft. Omito, Ogawa, Nage, Tomo, Zadi, Fumo, Herken and Tourio

Now here's a true treat for any fan of the Guilty Gear series.

At the legendary Mikado arcade in Tokyo, Japan, there's going to be an ongoing event hosted by Jonio which will keep going until mid-January.

Eight of the best Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 players are set to battle it out in two separate Round Robin groups in first-to-10 sets, with the finals taking place on January 20th. To make sure you don't miss the matches you're looking forward to, there's a very helpful event schedule included in this story.

At this event, you'll get to see world-class talents Omito, Ogawa, Nage, Tomo, Zadi, Fumo, Herken and Tourio battling it out, with the 1st placer in each group advancing to the finals.

The finals will also have a 3rd participant, who will be decided through a first-to-5 single-elimination bracket amongst the 2nd and 3rd placers of each group, so there's a lot of leeway to get your chance into the finals.

This weekend, the Go For Broke Winter Championship is taking place in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

This event has a lot of money on the line, with 3 games in the lineup, it has $15,000 in pot bonuses.

Tekken 7 StrongStyle European Qualifier results ft. SuperAkouma, Fergus, Blackbeard, KiraKira, RooKang

This year, NorCal's major Tekken event StrongStyle is back after a 3 year absence.

The hype is obviously big, so big in fact, that qualifiers are being held to go to the event, including one in London, United Kingdom, this weekend.

This is a one-day Tekken 7 event, so once you tune it it'll keep going until the very end.

Some of the European region's finest will be in attendance, including, but not limited to, Crazy|SuperAkouma, UYU|Fergus, SNG|Blackbeard, mYi|KiraKira, RTFM|RooKang, F-S|Tenshimitsu, Gunni, StarScream, BonusJin and RealMenace.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 Revival Tournament Series early results, stream and details

The Ultra Street Fighter 4 Revival Tournament Series will be taking place throughout the year.

Due to lag concerns because of the tournaments mainly focusing on online, it's been divided up into two separate regional events, one for North America and one for Europe.

Both regions will have eight tournaments, with the winner of each tournament qualifying for an eventual "Topanga-style" long-set Round Robin.

This event is all about bringing back Ultra Street Fighter 4 into people's minds, and entry is free, so if you happen to miss Ultra Street Fighter 4 and live in either North America or Europe, this is a grand chance to join, since these events will continue for some time.

We'll keep a continuous schedule in this story and bump when relevant so you can keep track of whatever's happening, and of course update with results after an event ends.

ArcSys Fighting Game Awards 2017 results ft. Omito, Ogawa, Fenrich, Iwashi, Ruki

Today, it's time to enjoy the ArcSys Fighting Game Awards 2017.

At this event, invitees and qualified players will be battling it out in ArcSys's two current signature games.

In case you haven't been paying attention, these two games are Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and BlazBlue: Central Fiction.

Guilty Gear will feature Omito, Ogawa, Ruki, Daru, Samitto, Nage, Rion and Takehara fighting it out, while BlazBlue will have Fenrich, Iwashi, DoraBang, Grover, Gackt, Monster, Meister and Matoi.

Although nothing is set in stone, last year we saw Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 being announced at this event, so if you're a fan this is not an event to miss.

Brussels Challenge Road to EVO Japan #4 results ft. Takamura, Will2Pac, Brick, Verdoyance

The final tournament in the Road to EVO Japan series is happening today, and will decide who finally wins their trip to EVO Japan.

This is mainly a Street Fighter 5 event, though it also had Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and King of Fighters 14 happening a day earlier.

Players set to attend are Epsilon|Takamura, Millénium|Will2Pac, Epsilon|Brick, Method|Verdoyance, Kashama, Epsilon|Nightcross, Kenpachi and many more.

Once the stream starts today, it'll be going until a winner has been crowned.

Cooperation Cup 16 results ft Nuki, Kuroda, MOV, Kokujin, Haitani

The best event of the year for any big Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike fan is upon us.

The annual Co-operation Cup is taking place in early January this year too, and with over 100 teams signed up for this 5v5 team tournament, that means that more than 500 players are going in to give it their all.

It's impossible to list all the amazing names partaking in this event, but I gave a preview about two weeks ago which features some of the top players attending.

Although the main event is on Sunday, there's a Pre-Cooperation Cup event going on during Saturday, so there'll be some action to enjoy before the main event kicks off.

If you're a 3rd Strike fan, you've already been waiting all last year for this, but if you haven't seen much of the game, this is the event to check out.

Daigo presents Kemonomichi exhibition results ft. Nuki, Deshiken, Ogawa, Machabo, Aniken and Kotaka Shoten

Today, fans of fighting games can enjoy some of the very highest calibre of play in three different games, courtesy of none other than CYG|Daigo - The Beast himself.

As detailed in our preview last week, this is an exhibition series with true champions facing eachother in first-to-10 sets.

The first game will be Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo between Aniken and Kotaka Shoten.

Following that, fellow EVO champions Ogawa and Machabo battle it out in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2.

Closing out the night, two more legends butt heads when Nuki and Deshiken face eachother in Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike.

This weekend has a pretty sweet Super Smash Bros. Melee invitational event going on.

The event, The Holiday Bash Smash Invitational, is taking place is Northern California.

Although there will be some side events as well, it's mainly focused on singles action, with 14 players divided up into two Round Robin-based groups.

From these groups, players will later advance into a bracket and fight it out for the glory of 1st place.

Brussels Challenge Road to EVO Japan #3 results ft. Takamura, Will2Pac, Nightcross, Gen1us

Another one of the Road to EVO Japan events is taking place in Brussels today.

This is a Street Fighter 5 event where many of Europe's more notable players gather to try and get the trip to EVO Japan promised to the victor.

There will also be tournaments played in Tekken 7, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, though it is unclear if there will be any stream time devoted to any of these games.

Players attending include, but are not limited to Epsilon|Takamura, Millénium|Will2Pac, Epsilon|Nightcross, Melty|Gen1us, Fuhajin, Method|NastyNas, Kashama, RagingReiskorn, AngryMojosan, KojackKira, Momi and Zer0q.

World E-Sports Legendary League results ft. Qudans, Xiao Hai, E.T., Noroma

This wekeend, the World E-Sports Legendary League is taking place in Changsha, China.

This event features some old-school games, namely King of Fighters '97, King of Fighters '94 and Samurai Shodown 2, but the focus is on two modern titles.

Tekken 7, and even moreso King of Fighters 14, have a very heavy focus at this event.

For King of Fighters 14, 8 of the world's top players were invited, expenses paid, to compete against eachother. Unfortunately, one of the invited players, WhiteAshX could not make it and was replaced with Naiwang. The other players participating are DouyuTV|Xiao Hai, E.T., AS|Reynald, M', PandaTV|Dakou, Pako and Luis Cha.

For Tekken 7, the Tekken World Tour champion Qudans attended, as well as several other top players such as COOASGAMES|Noroma and Dee-On.

Streaming is mainly being done on DouyuTV, though King of Fighters 14 is also being restreamed on Romance's Twitch channel.
