Fox vs. Luigi Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tiers, match-up votes and discussion

Im pretty sure that the matchup is even or in Luigi’s favor

Like Tristen said, this matchup is commonly agreed as either slight Luigi or even by a combination of Luigi and Fox mains, with most fox mains saying it's even or luigi wins and luigi mains saying they win, both being slight win of course.

Overall, the reason Luigi has a slight edge is due to his punish game, edgeuarding and restriction of Fox's movement to be a huge hinderance. His combination of fast fall zair and fair zoning restircts fox's movement hard, as he can't commit to dashing into Luigi or else he gets hit by them. Luigi also handles Fox up close very well, as he has just as good frame data and good oos options to deal with Fox's shield pressure. He can up b Fox's dash attack, which really hurts. Fox does have some advantages up close, as if he's ambiguous with his movement, he can whiff punish Luigi if he goes for a grab and or a down b, and up smash is an amazing punish. Luigi's punish game is also of course, extremely deadly on Fox, which is no surprise. And lastly the edguearding is hard for Fox as he can get 2 framed by Luigi's d tilt smash and get hit by Luigi's zair, pushing him further offstage where Luigi can hit him with a dair or bair. Fox can prove his worth when he gets the initiative, as he can ledgetrap Luigi very well to make up for his non existing edgeguarding and he can juggle Luigi very well as he can bait down b very well.

But overall, the matchup is a bit of an uphill battle for Fox, and i'd give the slight edge to Luigi even though you can argue it's even and I wouldn't disagree to much. I vote 4/6.
