Rightfully one of Samus’s worst matchups, which is odd given the tier placement difference.

The problem with this MU is that all levels of Samus’s charge shot get blocked by Duck Hunt’s “roadblocks” from the likes of the Gunmen (even when they are fainted), explosion pieces from Clay Pigeon and of course, Can. This means that without the percent lead, Samus has to approach and she can’t use charge shot almost at all, which really hurts not only her neutral, but damage racking to as a lot of her potent combos come from that. The duo can easily get juggles started from clay pigeon from a dashing Samus who is wide open to it, and can keep Samus trapped on ledge for a while, meaning they win in neutral and damage racking. Samus can get her normal game started if she does get advantage and the percent lead of course, where her ledgetrapping is very good against the Duo and she can zone the Duo’s approach from a mix of zair and bombs, as well as Up B OOS any unsafe option they do, but it’s so painful to get anything started, so it’s pretty minimal in the grand scheme of things. Samus does, however, take killing here as her grab can go through the Duo’s projectiles as a surprise to them and she has other good kill moves.

If Samus has better aerial approach options and more of a punish game beyond charge shot; this MU would be a lot better for her, but it isn’t. I vote 6/4.
