Ike vs. Kirby Super Smash Bros. Brawl tiers, match-up votes and discussion

Kirby's bair is annoying to get through as Ike without proper timing, and one grab can instantly lead from 0 to at least 40 for him. Onstage, overall, Ike has a slight advantage, as proper spacing of nair and fair keep Kirby out; Kirby can duck under Ike's jab, which is a big problem since a lot of Ike's better matchups against higher-tiered characters are because of his jab cancel. Ike can threaten a low-recovering Kirby with fair or dair, or ledge hog to force Kirby to FC and then up air him. What makes this in Kirby's favor (aside from his combo advantage and keep away game with bairs), however, is that Ike has a major disadvantage offstage. Quick Draw gets blocked by bair, and Stone actually has enough power to beat the armor in Aether. Ike is also most likely dead if he gets Inhaled while offstage. While doable like almost all of Ike's matchups, Kirby's combo advantage, surprising punish game, and gimping abilities make it a strain for Ike.
