Diddy Kong vs. Snake Super Smash Bros. Brawl tiers, match-up votes and discussion

One of Diddy Kong's worst matchups.
Snake wins the neutral, as C4 and Grenades prevent Diddy Kong from approaching Snake on the ground with Banana Peels. While Diddy Kong does have one of the better aerial games among the cast, the C4 as well as more Grenades make Snake very adept at catching Diddy kong when he has to land. If Snake gets one of Diddy Kong's Banana Peels, he gets just as much fun as Diddy Kong does due to how many of his high power moves like forward and up tilts are easy to land on tripped opponents. Snake's endurance also presents a problem for Diddy Kong: due to the C4 and Grenades (not landmines, Snake can easily get punished for trying to lay one if Diddy Kong is onstage) ruining his Banana Peel play, he has to rely more on starting combos with thrown Banana Peels rather than locking Snake, which don't rack up the damage as fast and allow Snake to break out of them with Grenades. While Diddy Kong's back and forward airs are good for guarding the edge, Snake's recovery cannot be edgeguarded that way at realistic percents. Meanwhile, Snake can much more easily establish stage control if he knocks Diddy Kong off, and can either use Grenades or Remote Missiles to screw with Rocketbarrel Boost or set landmines or C4 to make returning to the stage hell for Diddy Kong. Like against Falco, Meta Knight, and Wario, Diddy Kong can still put up a fight, but he has to be a lot more patient and safe against Snake than against many other characters among Brawl's cast, which isn't his ideal play style. Thus, I have to hand this matchup to Snake.
