One of five of Kirby’s 7/3 matchups (Ganondorf, Zelda, Jigglypuff ((which dataustisticgamer covered)) Link and of course, Captain Falcon) Kirby wins in damage racking and neutral because while Captain Falcon is faster, he can’t really use his speed against Kirby because of his generally poor hitboxes can’t get past a crouching Kirby or Kirby’s Bair. Once Kirby gets a grab, he can chain grab Captain Falcon with his Down Throw from 0% to about 40%. The final throw Kirby can foward throw to get more followups or back throw to send Captain Falcon offstage which leads into edge guarding, where Kirby just demolishes our poor F-Zero pilot. if he’s hanging onto the ledge, his Bair just completely walls Falcon Dive out. He can than perform a fence of pain or it just kills Falcon if he’s at high percents. If he’s coming in vertically, Dair perfectly beats out Falcon Dive. It outlasts an airdodge to, so he really has no ways to beat it. I wouldn’t suggest edgehogging because Kirby can get grabbed and stone is to slow to edgeguard while if Kirby goes for it, he could eat a Dair from Falcon.

So while Captain Falcon is generally faster than Kirby and is able to punish Kirby if he does a bad spacing option, Kirby’s better damaging racking, neutral options to Falcon’s speed and deadly offstage tools clearly makes this a 3/7 matchup.
