While Dedede has disjoints and overall better power, Mewtwo's mobility and frame data are much faster than King Dedede's and has shadow ball to pressure him in neutral and can reflect gordos with side b, Mewtwo's airdodge makes it very hard or impossible for Dedede to edgeguard Mewtwo. Dedede is easy for Mewtwo to combo with down tilt and fair and Dedede's aerials are too slow to punish Mewtwo's safe moves on shield and Mewtwo's fast spot dodge and Dedede's laggy aerials makes it easy to punish Dedede also unlike in Smash Ultimate Dedede inhale can't reflect shadow ball or any projectiles. However Mewtwo is much lighter than Dedede so moves like dash attack, Dedede's up b, bair and forward smash will kill Mewtwo early also Mewtwo's up throw won't be killing Dedede until very high percents due to his heavy weight and very high fall speed.
