While Villager almost certainly has an advantage against Mega Man, the extent of that advantage is greatly exaggerated. Some of the items Villager can pocket, such as Rush Coil and Hard Knuckle, are not even worth pocketing, and Mega Man players usually know how to get past characters that pack anti-projectile moves anyways. If you are using attacks like Metal Blade or F-Smash and not preparing for a Pocket, then you are literally are just playing poorly. VIllager pocketing Air Shooter can usually be exploited by firing another Air Shooter, Crash Bombs usually wind up being backfiring without experience abusing them, and Leaf Shield is not that useful of a projectile to pocket unless you pocket it before it is fired. Unlike Samus or Duck Hunt, Mega Man has strong aerials that it is fully capable of abusing consistently, and an 80-20 matchup is overrating the hell out of Villager by a longshot.
Megaman is forced to using only attacks that cant be pocketed or arent worth pocketing. Hard fist Meteor can be pocketed, Air man Up A can be pocketed , Rush spring can even be pocketed, side smash is a deadly pocket its power is increased after being pocekted so its even stronger than an allready powerful smash. leaf shield can be pocketed and when villager throws it it has no recoil like when megaman throws it.
i feel like alot of megamans attacks should be immune to reflectors and pocket just so that he isnt countered too much by reflecting moves and doesnt rely on only 5 non projectile attacks but they arent.
