In Viper's favor, 6-4. Viper is crazy fast/mobile, has a bevy of mixups, and deals pretty darn scathing damage. Her Ultras are relatively dangerous and she plays a mean vortex game that can mess up anyone. Being defensive against her is a no-no, that's asking to be walked all over. The best way to go about fighting her with Oni is a great offense; in short, "the best defense is a great offense" when it comes to this particular fight. While Viper has very high offensive pressure, she can't really deal against pressure herself; her only way to get out is to either get out of a throw or DP. Getting out of a throw is situational, and her DP got neerfed with the universal -5 on FADC. Oni is also able to catch her on back dash.

Oni probably does better against C. Viper than the other Shotos do (except Akuma, who beats her). This matchup is 4.5/5.5, but I rated it as 5/5 since that's all this system allows.

For comparison, Ryu struggles a bit in this matchup because he can't use his fireballs very well against C. Viper, but Oni doesn't mind not using his fireballs at all. He has better pressure and much higher damage than Ryu, which means that his punishes will hurt Viper's low health a lot. Oni can still use cr.MK to low-profile Burn Kick mixups and his Kara Throw is very useful for keeping pressure and getting corner push. If Oni makes a correct read and punish on an attempted wakeup Reversal from C. Viper, he can really press his advantage and get a stun or kill in 1 or 2 more sequences.

Viper definitely has at least a slight upper hand, since her mixups are so safe and effective, but Oni's high damage, solid pressure, and lack of a reliance on fireball zoning make him have a pretty good chance in this matchup.
