Steven 'Dreamking23' Chavez

Director of Editorial

Steven is the Director of Editorial and part owner of EventHubs. With a passion for video games since about 1994, his affinity for the fighting genre elevated to a more serious level in 2009 with the release of Street Fighter 4. He is an avid Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition player, but also dabbles in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.

As an EventHubs user and staffer for over 10 years now, Steven manages and leads the editorial team, finding new approaches to keep content fresh and interesting. He continues to write stories and reviews for the front page, and has conducted interviews with some of the industry's biggest companies including Capcom, NetherRealm Studios, and SNK.

Steven handles website optimizations and technology strategies, plus has experience with Django, HTML and CSS.

He is known as EventHubs' "resident lab monster" due to his vast knowledge and ability in finding and understanding the intricacies of fighting games. He specializes in Capcom fighting games, but is capable of analyzing and breaking down many other fighters as well including the aforementioned modern titles, as well as Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and more.

Steven got his start in the fighting game community creating combo and strategy videos back in 2009. He managed and maintained a successful YouTube channel for over 5 years, and early on he wrote character guides and tutorials to help fellow players (especially newcomers) learn how to play different games.

Chavez's main area of expertise lies in Street Fighter, though series such as Super Smash Bros., Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Marvel vs. Capcom, and several others are a part of his repertoire as well. He also delves into retro and obscure fighting games to shed new light on titles from the past.
