Nicholas 'MajinTenshinhan' Taylor

Tournament Coverage Specialist

Nicholas "MajinTenshinhan" Taylor has been writing about games for a long time, and been playing them for a lot longer, and has been the Tournament Coverage Specialist for EventHubs since 2013.

With fighting games just being one of his passions, he also holds a deep interest in video games in general (particularly Nintendo titles, which makes the Super Smash Bros. series all the more special to him) and manga, for which Dragon Ball is his favorite (as the username may suggest), though he surprisingly doesn't play much of its fighting game adaption Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Although an avid player of Mortal Kombat 2 and Tekken 3 during childhood, what started getting him into fighting games a bit more seriously was Guilty Gear XX Slash in 2006 and then Street Fighter 4 in 2009 brought him to the point of seeking out a local community of like-minded competitive people. He's been covering video games in general for online publications since 2009, and been working with fighting games specifically for EventHubs for over 7 years at this point.

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in translation focused on Japanese from Dalarna's Högskola, he uses his knowledge of the Japanese language for exclusive interviews and translations of key information with his finger on the pulse of news outlets that only publish in Japan.

Having work history which includes stints at Expressen, one of Sweden's biggest newspapers, as well as being raised by two parents who both worked in the same field gives him an intricate understanding of what journalism is about and how to approach stories in an appropriate manner.

Whether it's long shifts gathering all available data from events around the world and publishing them in a straightforward and easy to digest manner or writing larger pieces focusing on the intricacies of fighting game mentality and how to improve as a player, Nicholas makes sure to make full use of his experience to enhance his work.
