Although Justin has his bachelor's degree in computer science, he discovered his passion for writing about fighting games after joining the EventHubs team. Writing for EventHubs has allowed Justin to take advantage of his enjoyment of dropping trivia about fighting games.
During his time with the EventHubs tech department, he assisted in developing many of the site's features such as move pages, tiers sections for games, the tournament player listings, and more.
The Super Smash Bros. series has been Justin's main focus when it comes to fighting games even at a young age. With Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he's been able to win a few local tournaments. On a few occasions, he's even been able to do this with characters often deemed as being low tiers.
Thanks to his longtime experience with the Super Smash Bros. franchise, Justin tends to be the "Smash guy" of the EventHubs team.
Justin would eventually make a transition into learning traditional fighting games when Super Street Fighter 4 was released in 2010. Although not technically an "old school" player of the arcade era, he's developed a preference for playing on the fight stick.
NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat and Injustice series also tend to be big favorites of Justin's. He's always willing to throw down with Baraka and Batman in their respective games.
Growing up, Justin has been a casual fan of the Dragon Ball series, mostly as a result of his brother being a huge fan. Still, Justin is quite knowledgeable about Dragon Ball lore and the mechanics behind Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Justin is also quite skilled at providing breakdowns and analyses for 3D fighting games like Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6.
With games in the Super Smash Bros, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Injustice series, Justin tends to be well versed when it comes to understanding tech and frame data.
