World's most successful Sonic player releases new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tier list
This is an interesting one. It's not surprising to see Steve at the top as usual. I was surprised, however, to see Shulk ranked in B tier, the same tier as Mii Gunner, Duck Hunt, and Marth. Is Shulk losing favorability in the Smash community? I won't assume that B tier is ordered, but if it is, then Sonix has a pretty unfavorable opinion of Shulk compared to other players.

Steve could now legitimately get banned from competitive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate due to discovery of hit stun cancelling tech
I agree that it can't be enforced because it's hard to tell immediately if it occurred. The problem I have is that, if it is difficult to tell whether it occurred, Steve players can just get away with using it and drastically affect tournaments. I would say that the character should just be banned as soon as possible. Otherwise, we'll keep on debating over this, and it won't solve anything. Hopefully, something can be done ...

New tier list featuring participation from 71 top players released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
They probably have Fox that high because of the success Light has had with Fox, though I agree with you that Fox is kinda overrated. For Lucina, it's likely that she is seen as predictable given that she doesn't too many mix ups in her moves, and as a result, she isn't seen as a top 10 character. For Palutena, it was the various nerfs that she received throughout the lifespan of this game that ...

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tier list ranks how high every character has finished at Supermajor tournaments over the game's history
Seeing R.O.B. only get as high as 4th place at a supermajor is really interesting. I know that everyone claims that he is one of the best characters of the game, but this shows that players know how to stop this character from going further in bracket. Strong character, but easy to figure out how to beat.

Over 60 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters saw play in the top 128 of Genesis 9's massive tournament
I think that there are a lot of players in various local areas who play Toon Link, who some argue is a high tier character. I still think that Young Link is the best of the Links, but none of the Links are bad. At worst, the weakest one is upper mid tier. Dabuz plays Olimar, Rosalina, and Min Min, so he will usually switch around when he feels one character falls apart in a ...

Tier list constructed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate based on character win percentages in 2022
My guess for why Lucina, Marth, and Sheik have the lowest win percentages of 2022: Lucina: most players know how to fight against her at this point because she is very predictable. Marth: same moveset as Lucina, except has tipper, which makes it slightly easier (or slightly harder in some cases) to go up against him. Also, most people just play Lucina over Marth anyway. Sheik: on top of not having many players represent her, ...

Steve dominates the top 64 and top 8 of Let's Make Moves Miami but more character specialists are on the rise
MuteAce was really impressive in this tourney, as he had to go up against an army of Steve mains as well as fighting Riddles' Kazuya. He managed to accomplish a lot here: - Beat Yonni's Steve 3-1 - Beat Acola's Steve 3-0 (Winners Bracket) - Beat Riddles' Kazuya / Terry 3-1 It wasn't until he had to go up against Onin in Winners Finals that MuteAce fell short, losing 3-2. Then he lost to Acola ...

Big D's Ice Climbers beat three major threats at the Ludwig Smash Invitational's SSBU event including the number 1 seed
I think this goes to show that the Ice Climbers are more viable than people give them credit for. Rush down characters like Fox and Sheik do really well against zoners and even most swordies. Specifically with Sheik, she does well against a lot of top tiers like Pyra/Mythra, Lucina, Min Min, and Joker. However, she struggles very hard against the Ice Climbers because they can easily disrupt her moves and combos and put her ...

Should Steve be banned from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate events? I asked the pros and community heads, here's how they responded
I do agree that some of Steve's moves are outright ridiculous and should be nerfed. However, we're not yet seeing multiple Steve mains get to top 8 at a singular tournament. Not counting the Gimvitational, I think the most Steve mains we have had in a top 8 major/supermajor was 2. That's not like having 5-7 Meta Knight mains in a top 8 Brawl tournament. Even if Ultimate has a much larger roster, it doesn't ...

Should Steve be banned from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate events? I asked the pros and community heads, here's how they responded
I don't think Steve compares to Meta Knight in Brawl because Meta Knight's matchup spread was extremely skewed in his favor, beating all but one or two characters in the whole roster. Many of his winning matchups were also 8-2 or better in his favor, as he had very broken tools to get out of disadvantage and win neutral practically every time. Steve beats maybe 50-55% of the Ultimate roster, with anywhere from 15-25 losing ...
