Did Street Fighter 5 just accidentally spill the next new character? Image of full silhouette appears to show Helen

With the release of Season 2 tonight, and all that comes with it, one very astute observer sent us something of note.

When you go to purchase colors for the new characters on the PSN store, you get to see Akuma as well as bigger versions of the previous silhouettes we saw for upcoming characters, and well... The one right to the left of Akuma here doesn't really leave much to the imagination.

This zoomed-out version of the previous silhouette matches Helen's model from the story mode to a T, and while it of course can be someone else, it's very difficult to see Capcom making someone so extremely similar to an already existing character.

Capcom: There are no immediate plans to further reduce [Street Fighter 5's] input delay

Street Fighter 5's eight frames of input lag have been largely talked about since the game's release back in February. With a response time slower than most games on the market today, players and fans alike found it difficult to properly punish attacks consistently.

A few months back, Capcom reduced the delay from an 8-frame average to roughly 6.5 frames.

In a recent test from DisplayLag, we learned that Street Fighter 5's input delay average comes out to 6.2 frames at 60hz on the PlayStation 4. Ultra Street Fighter 4's delay, on the other hand, results in a 4.3 frame average at 60hz.

We recently caught up with Capcom to talk the future of Street Fighter 5. When asked if the development team aims to reduce the input lag even further (to be more in line with Ultra Street Fighter 4), the game's Associate Producer, Peter "Combofiend" Rosas, had this to say.

"There are no immediate plans to further reduce the input delay at this moment in time," Peter told us.
