Out of all the Ryu's Daigo has played, Street Fighter: Alpha Three is his favorite — why?

CYG|Daigo is known for being the Ryu God if you will. He is nearly synonymous with the fighter and has used him throughout all Street Fighter titles.

It seems in every iteration of Street Fighter he has given Ryu at least a chance. So out of all the versions that he's played, which Ryu is his favorite?

How Daigo 'chickened out' of parrying Chun-Li's super in Street Fighter 3: Third Strike five years before EVO Moment 37

EVO Moment 37. You don't have to be hugely invested in the fighting game scene to recognize the significance of this event. It was here where, under an intense amount of pressure, CYG|Daigo Umehara pulled off a crazy sequence of parries against Justin Wong as he threw out Chun-Li's super in an attempt to chip out what remained of Daigo's life bar.

Being able to pull off such a stunt in this situation sort of demonstrated Daigo as someone who was fearless. Ironically, there was another event five years ago where Daigo "chickened out" in the face of Chun-Li's super and blocked it instead.

From Yun, Bayonetta and Hero to Meta Knight and Hilde - Why is it nearly impossible to ban fighting game characters?

Overpowered boss characters have existed in fighting games since the very beginning of the genre as we know it forcing developers to make them non-selectable for players or easily banned in Versus Mode. It's much more difficult to police a normal fighter that is arguably broken or top tier, however.

With the recent controversy surrounding Dragon Quest Hero's potential bannable design aspects in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, content creator Stumblebee has put together a new video to go over why it seems nearly impossible to ban characters in fighting games in a competitive sense.

Businessman casually parries Dudley's Machine Gun Blow in Street Fighter 3 Third Strike while checking his phone

Parrying an attack in Street Fighter 3 Third Strike requires specific timing and practice to pull off consistently. The input is even more demanding when the attack has multiple hits, as you'll have to hit forward on the joystick repeatedly in cadence with the various hits of the special move.

While parrying is a technique I still need a lot of work on, some people have mastered it to a level that they can pretty much do it in their sleep. A recent clip surfaced online that shows a businessman sitting at an arcade machine not necessarily parrying in his sleep, but doing something not far off from that — casually parrying while checking his phone.

Shiba Ryu, Ibuki Tanuki, Spider Juri and more: Artist QuasimodoX re-imagines the Street Fighter cast as their spirit animals filled with puns

Capcom released a pack of animal skins as DLC for the world warriors back during the Street Fighter 4 days, but now we can see them fully personified by their inner beasts.

An artist known as QuasimodoX recently released a collection of sketches they made to show off the Street Fighter cast as their spirit animals which is both cute and hilarious at the same time.

Why did so many people overlook Street Fighter 3 when it first came out?

Street Fighter 3 (specifically the Third Strike update) is revered by a significant portion of the FGC as the greatest fighting game ever, but was also widely a commercial failure for Capcom that preceded an almost decade-long silent period for the franchise.

Certiainly the game has stood the test of time in the competitive realm, but why did so many of us apparently choose to spend our time and quarters on other games and arcade cabinets instead of exploring this fighting gem? Top Hat Gaming Man explores this peculiar turn of events in a recent video of his.

MOV's Third Strike story about how he tried, and failed, to impress Daigo enough to be on his team still has a happy ending

GRAPHT|MOV has caught the eyes of Street Fighter 5 fans more than a few times with his explosive and creative Chun-Li play, but the Master of Vampires will most certainly go down in the history books as a Third Strike legend thanks to his four Super Battle Opera victories.

Of course, every journey has a beginning, and MOV wasn't always the show-stopping Chun-Li player he is now known to be. During his EVO interview with BornFree, the Japanese player opens up about a particular story from his early years involving two of the Japanese fighting game gods: Rhoto|Tokido and CYG|Daigo.

Tired eyes costing you matches? Go1 stars in entertaining Japanese eye drop commercial narrated by one of the five gods of fighting games

Sponsorships are kinda a funny thing in the fighting game community, as it's normally carried out as part of a larger eSports team though there are actual consumer brands out there supporting players as well.

Goichi "CO|Go1" Kishida is seen as one of the best Dragon Ball FighterZ players around as well as anime fighters in general, and while his primary sponsor for competing is Cyclops Gaming, Rohto Z is also in there landing the top player in his very own commercial in Japan... for eye drops.

Street Fighter easter egg uncovered in original Shenmue game after nearly two decades of elusion

It was in December of 1999 that action-adventure title Shenmue launched on the Sega Dreamcast, but only here in 2019 have fans finally figured out how to unlock a secret cut scene that pays homage to the Street Fighter franchise.

Discovered by a modder named "nullpo," the easter egg sees the game's protagonist, Ryo Hazuki, pull off a Shin Shoryuken on another character during a quick time event scene. Why did this take 20 years for fans to figure out? Probably because it's impossible to pull off without first doing some tweaking to the game's binary.
