'I think I might've broke Pyra' — GimR unveils new tech for Pyra's Blazing End that could alter the character's meta in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Though Mythra is generally seen as the better character of the Pyra & Mythra duo in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pyra isn't without her strong qualities. Her side special, the Blazing End, is particularly good for its ability to lock down an area with a hitbox that stays active for a long duration.

VGBC|GimR recently released a video that highlights some powerful setups that can be employed by Pyra on stages with platforms. Under the right conditions, Pyra can initiate an unavoidable kill move from a tech situation.

Pyra's hitboxes tend to be bigger than Mythra's but both characters feel 'very DLC' in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate according to Rekzius' analysis

Pyra & Mythra are the most recent additions to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's gargantuan roster. Like many other fighters before them, they are sword users that really benefit from disjointed hitboxes.

As is tradition with DLC releases for Smash Ultimate, Rekzius has released a video that provides a visual guide and analysis of the hitboxes and properties of the newest DLC combatant.

Will Nintendo wait for E3 2021 to show the next character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighters Pass Vol. 2 or can we expect another before then?

At this point, there are only two characters left in Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Masahiro Sakurai has heavily implied that these next two characters will be the final ones for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

As such, the waiting period for the next reveal has once again begun. When can we expect this reveal to happen?

29 characters appeared in top 32 of Smash World Tour Oceania with most of the top tiers absent from the upper bracket

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate boasts a ridiculous roster size of over 80 characters to choose from with just as many match ups to attempt to learn which can lead to some of the most varied competition in the fighting game genre as a whole.

The Smash World Tour Oceania Online Qualifier this weekend is certainly proof of that with at least 29 different fighters being represented within just the top 32 though many of the ones considered the best in the game are not among them.

Terry Bogard's iconic 'Are you okay?' line has a surprisingly simple yet sweet origin story involving an amusement park ride

Terry Bogard remains one of the most endearing and quotable fighting game characters in the entire genre for his own unique interpretation of the English language, and fans wouldn't change that for a second.

One of the Wild Wolf's most iconic lines across his many appearances for the past two decades, including his most recent in King of Fighters 15, is the call out of his Buster Wolf with 'Are you okay?' which has a surprising origin story that's cute, comical and sincere all at once.

The unrelenting Super Smash Bros. community is, once again, rallying for Nairo to be unbanned from Twitch

Social media can be a fickle beast as trends and fads can garner massive support overnight and then burn away just as quickly, but the Super Smash Bros. community is proving the wave of support they've been showing former pro player Nairoby "Nairo" Quezada is not fleeting.

Today marks the one month anniversary of Quezada's "ready to return" video after being banned from streaming service as well as the Super Smash Bros. community over. His fans ("Naifus") and some of his fellow pro players are making waves for the second time now on Twitter, appealing to Twitch with "#Justice4Nairo" in a communal effort aimed at allowing the Smasher to return to streaming.

Super Smash Bros.'s future at Evo isn't looking like a lock after Sony's acquisition of the tournament circuit, Nintendo releases statement

The fighting game community was taken by surprise yesterday afternoon when the return of the Evo tournament series was announced. Not only had the silence on what lies ahead for the longtime fighting game competition been broken, but we also learned that Sony Interactive Entertainment and RTS had jointly acquired the organization.

Naturally, this has stirred up a lot of questions from fighting gamers, especially the one that asks about the future of games that aren't on Sony consoles — such as Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Following the announcement, Nintendo released a statement on the matter, and from the sound of it Smash at Evo isn't looking like a lock just yet.

VoiD releases speedrun tier list for Version 11.0 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The Version 11.0 update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brought down one of the biggest balance adjustments in the game's history, but just how much of an impact do the buffs and nerfs make after Pyra and Mythra's arrival?

This could be the lamest display of Steve's gameplay in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and I think it's hysterical to watch

When Steve from Minecraft was first shown off for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there were concerns from the Smash community about some of the tools that he had access to. In theory, Steve could win a match by simply laming out opponents until a time over occurred. Luckily though, Steve was designed with some rather glaring faults that generally prevents this from happening too often.

However, if Steve manages to get a significant lead over the other player, then they could be forced into an obnoxious game of tag. Uhhncertain recently posted a hilarious (or painful) clip that had a Byleth user locked in a pretty unfavorable position.

Pyra & Mythra's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate trailer features the only script since Smash 4 that wasn't written by Masahiro Sakurai

Masahiro Sakurai is known for involving himself in just about every part of a game's development that he's been the lead director of. It was actually quite noteworthy when it was reported that Masahiro Sakurai did not get involved with balance decisions of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the first time in the series. He ended up leaving the adjustment of parameters to a team so that he could focus on other aspects of the game's development.

During the "Mr. Sakurai Presents Pyra/Mythra" video presentation, it was revealed that, with the exception of Pyra & Mythra's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate trailer, Sakurai himself wrote the script for every trailer since Super Smash Bros. 4.

How likely is the 'Concert Leak' for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now that Monster Hunter Mii costumes have been revealed?

Pyra & Mythra ended up being the characters to join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate via the Fighters Pass Vol. 2's Challenger Pack 9. Prior to their reveal, a post on 4chan — now known as the Concert Leak — was able to correctly predict that Challenger Pack 9 would be a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 rep. According to this "leak," Nintendo is planning a three-hour long orchestra in 2022 that will consist of songs that represent every character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, including fighters that have not yet been revealed.

While the correct, yet broad prediction of a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 rep gave the initial impression of this leak being possible or even likely, new information that surfaced during the "Sakurai Presents" video that showcased Pyra & Mythra now casts some new doubt on this rumor. One of the characters featured in this rumor has been possibly disconfirmed due to the return of a certain Mii costume.

Pyra & Mythra can soft lock Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in 'Century Smash' with a perfectly timed transformation

Pyra & Mythra were recently released as DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Like many other DLC characters, they apparently come with a few bugs that Nintendo should address in a future patch.

As demonstrated by EC Glaceon and Master0fHyrule, Pyra & Mythra can cause Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to become soft locked with a well timed transformation. Of course, this probably won't be too much of an issue for most players as it's only been shown to happen in a specific mode.

Two Super Smash Bros. organizations lift bans on Nairoby 'Nairo' Quezada

Two organizations in the Super Smash Bros. community, 2GGaming and Collision Gaming, have lifted bans barring former professional player Nairoby 'Nairo' Quezada from attending their events.

The 24 year old player and streamer was widely ostracized from the Super Smash Bros. community as well as from Twitch after allegations of him having sexual relations with a minor arose last July. Quezada posted a video last month in which he expressed that his legal endeavors surrounding the matter had concluded as well as a desire to return to streaming.
