Masahiro Sakurai tells fans to hold on just a bit longer, likely referring to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's next DLC challenger

It's been 51 days since Pyra & Mythra were revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and 36 days since the two Xenoblade Chronicles 2 reps were made available as playable characters. As of right now, it's unknown when Challenger Pack 10 of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be revealed, though fans have speculated on a couple of different timeframes on when this might happen.

According to Kody Nokolo's translated synopsis of Masahiro Sakurai's comments in Famitsu Column 626, we may not have to wait too much longer. "He also says that this isn't all that he's been working on, so hold on just a bit longer! He's trying his best."

Another sick Steve montage is making me rethink the Minecraft rep's potential in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

When Steve was first released as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I was unsure of the character's viability in a competitive setting due to his poor mobility and stubby reach.

Towards the end of 2020, a player known as Paru uploaded a Steve montage that showcased some of the crazier things this fighter can do. Another Steve montage has been uploaded to Twitter by Yonni that further demonstrates that Steve is capable of some insanely hype sequences. Was Steve a sleeper top tier all along?

Nairo launches first Super Smash Bros. YouTube stream since being banned from Twitch nearly a year ago, gets 26,000 viewers in 20 minutes

The Super Smash Bros. community hasn't seen the likes of Nairoby "Nairo" Quezada much over the last year as the 24 year old pro player was ostracized after being involved in one of the Smash scene's multiple scandals in 2020.

Having dealt with said scandal on a legal front and being granted a second chance by many in the court of public opinion, Nairo made his return to streaming today via YouTube since his ban from Twitch has yet to be lifted. Just 20 minutes after starting he had already garnered over 26,000 live viewers and what must be an absolute ton in subscription and donation revenue.

Rumor: References to new Nintendo Switch docking station that supports 4K resolution found in latest firmware update by data-miners

Version 12.0.0 for the Nintendo Switch firmware was rolled out by Nintendo recently. According to Nintendo themselves, this update only provided a fix for a rare situation that prevented automatic back up saving of data from occurring. "We fixed the issue with the save data backup feature, where in rare cases, the automatic backup of save data is interrupted if a communication error occurs during completion of the save data backup process."

However, it's now being reported by OatmealDome and Mike Heskin, known data-miners, that the updated code makes references to a new type of docking station, which is supposedly designed for a new Nintendo Switch model. "Aula is the codename for the new model," said OatmealDome on Twitter.

Two Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competitive players have recently been banned from events ran by several tournament organizers in the fighting game community. Explosive combos, deadly kill confirms and tricky traps showcased for Robin in Mad Ice King's new Robin Advantage Guide for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Although Robin is generally perceived as a mid tier in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Mad Ice King has dedicated himself to unlocking this master tactician's full potential. It's no wonder that this player is often getting kicked from online lobbies as many players are unable to figure out how to appropriately deal with his Robin and his bag of tricks during gameplay.

Last time, Mad Ice King released a detailed guide that explained how Robin is to be played in the neutral game. By winning in the neutral, a player is then able to transition into an advantage state. As such, it only makes sense that one of the Mad Ice King's most recent video uploads explains what Robin should be doing while at an advantageous situation.

Nairoby 'Nairo' Quezada shares his reaction footage to Sephiroth's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveal trailer

Newest community Super Smash Bros. Melee tier list consulted 64 top players

PGstats has released the "13th official tier list" for Super Smash Bros. Melee. Although the last 12 official tier lists were traditionally created by special members of Smashboards' Melee Back Room, PGstats has noted the site's dwindling traffic throughout the years as the reason why they've taken up the mantle on this task. As such, the last Super Smash Bros. Melee tier list of this type hasn't been created since 2015.

To create this tier list, Ryobeat and PracticalTAS consulted 63 members of the Melee Panda Global Rankings 2019 and UGS|Armada on their opinions on how characters should be arranged on a Melee tier list. After collecting the data from these 64 players, PracticalTAS crunched some numbers to create these rankings.

Rumor: Nintendo website possibly references the existence of Challenger Pack 12 after the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

With Pyra & Mythra now available as part of the Challenger Pack 9, there are now only two characters of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 that have yet to be revealed and released. As of right now, it is unknown if there will be a Fighters Pass Vol. 3 or any other additional content for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate following the release of these last two fighters. Based on what Masahiro Sakurai has said of the subject in the past, it doesn't seem very likely at first glance.

However, fans have recently discovered something interesting on the Australian Nintendo website that suggests the existence of some sort of content that is coming after Challenger Pack 11, the final DLC package for Fighters Pass Vol. 2. PapaGenos has recently released a video that covers the details behind this rumor, which are based on the discovery made by RiuBert in a Reddit thread.
