Fatal Fury fans are putting Mai Shiranui in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate via custom, extra bouncy stages

When Masahiro Sakurai mentioned Mai Shiranui during his Terry Bogard presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, telling fans that the character was essentially too sexual to be included even as a background NPC, the internet basically caught flame. The ensuing backlash has seen a number of Smashers insert Mai into the game by creating her in the custom stage mode.

Ms. Shiranui has been an iconic part of SNK fighting games for nearly 30 years now and has had an unequivocal theme of sexuality about her since day one. That said, Bayonetta, a character that has been in Smash for a few years now, also has an overtly sexual nature and still made her way into Ultimate as a playable roster member.

Jigglypuff's buffed down air is scaring me and will scare you too in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The 6.0.0 patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate came out alongside Terry Bogard. It's still early, but you can vote on where you think Terry goes on the tier list.

Jigglypuff is one of the low tiers who received substantial buffs in this patch. As a result, we are seeing a terrifying, new Jigglypuff — enough to where some pros, like GimR, are calling her high-tier now.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 6.1.0 update is now live fixing Terry Bogard's freeze glitch

Mr. Terry Bogard has been available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for just over a week now, but he apparently put the developers in a bit of an awkward situation where they needed to update the game again ASAP.

The previously announced Version 6.1.0 update for Smash Ultimate is now available to download to the Nintendo Switch though its primary directive is to fix a bug involving Terry that would freeze a match in its tracks.

Early Terry Bogard match up chart for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released by Locus

Terry Bogard was only released just last week. Although it might be too early to accurately detail Terry's match ups against the other 78 characters in the game, Locus has released a "very preliminary" match up chart for Terry Bogard. Do keep in mind that Locus mostly went about doing this while bored at an airport.

Again, it can't be emphasized enough that this specific chart is likely intended to be a very early look at Terry's potential, if only to get the discussion going. Chances are extremely high that this will be inaccurate in the long run.

The most important things we hope are changed for Street Fighter 5's next season, Guilty Gear 2020 commentary, and Mai is too sexy for Smash

What I'd like to see in version 6.1.0 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — more buffs to the low tiers please

With a new balance patch incoming, what is on my wish list? There are many things I'd like to see with this patch.

As the patch will most likely fix a Terry Bogard soft lock glitch, we can only hope for more changes that affect the balance of the game. This could be like the patch 3.1.0, which came out a month after Joker was released. Notably, version 3.1.0 implemented the highest number of balance adjustments to the game thus far.

Manual inputs are tough — Here's a video on how you can stop messing up Terry Bogard's inputs in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Locus has been one of the few Smash players familiar with manual inputs since using Ryu in Super Smash Bros. 4. Special moves with alternate inputs appear to be the gimmick for characters that hail from traditional fighting games.

Many Smash players who haven't got much fighting game experience outside the series are struggling with the inputs for Terry Bogard. As a result, Locus has made a guide to assist the people so it can be easier.

When the first Sonic the Hedgehog film trailer dropped earlier in 2019, pretty much everyone around the world had the same reaction at the same time: what the hell am I looking at? Most of the ire was directed towards Sonic's nightmarish looks in the movie which the movie studio did not ignore.

Paramount Pictures ended up delaying the release of Sonic's big-screen debut to redesign the Sega mascot to be more traditional, and today the studio released a brand new trailer to showcase the new look along with a lot more footage we hadn't seen before.

Frame traps in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are critical to success but work differently to other fighting games, here's what you need to know

Frame traps in fighting games are the result of predicting and beating the opponent's next option after placing yourself in an advantageous position. Usually this comes about because the last attack that the opponent blocked put you at frame advantage.

In the case of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, attacks that leave you at frame advantage on block are exceedingly rare. Having said that, frame traps still exist in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and are critical to understand for achieving success.

Terry Bogard's worst enemy is shown to be Mario's F.L.U.D.D. in this hilarious Super Smash Bros. Ultimate clip

Although Terry Bogard, the latest character to join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, appears to be quite gifted in the way of damage output and confirms, he isn't without his weaknesses. In particular, he has quite a time trying to recover back to the stage when launched against certain types of fighters.

Even with access to his Burn Knuckle, Crack Shoot, Power Dunk, Power Geyser, and Rising Tackle as viable recovery options, Terry is still going to struggle when it comes to keeping his stocks alive. A recent clip uploaded by MVG|DarkWizzy, one of the best Mario players in the world, highlights a hilarious issue that Terry has against Mario's down special — the F.L.U.D.D.
