We got our first look at Kazuya Mishima's moves and abilities in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when his reveal trailed debuted during Nintendo's E3 2021 presentation. Masahiro Sakurai was also kind enough to tease a short clip that showcased 32 of Kazuya's attacks in action.

Based on what was shown in the trailer, it looks like Kazuya will be yet another character with access to a "DLC mechanic." There's also a fairly good possibility that he might even get two of them.

Masahiro Sakurai once considered Heihachi for Super Smash Bros. 4 but implementing his movement would've been difficult

Tekken's Kazuya Mishima was recently revealed to be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2's Challenger Pack 10. Despite Bandai Namco's direct involvement in the development of Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Kazuya is only the second of Bandai Namco's characters to gain entry into the roster along with Pac-Man.

However, there was once a time where Tekken's Heihachi was actually the Tekken rep that was considered for Smash by Nintendo and Bandai Namco. During an interview (translations by Source Gaming), Masahiro Sakurai briefly spoke on the possibility of Heihachi when asked if there were any Bandai Namco reps other than Pac-Man that were considered during Super Smash Bros. 4's development.

Kazuya Super Smash Bros. Ultimate meme reimagines if Kirby didn't survive and now it's a Mortal Kombat Fatality

The internet got hit with a surprise announcement during Nintendo's E3 2021 presentation this week. While fans expected a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character to be announced, the general chatter certainly didn't predict what we'd ultimately see revealed.

Tekken's own Kazuya Mishima is joining the battle and was unveiled by way of a special trailer that saw him perform his trademark "cliff drop" on several of the game's characters. At the end of the trailer, Kazuya dropped Kirby off the cliff, but he floated back up and survived. The internet, however, has reimagined this scene and not only made it so that Kirby doesn't come back, but it is now a meme-worthy Mortal Kombat Fatality.

Kazuya = Shoto? Debate rages over terminology between Super Smash Bros. community and FGC after Tekken character's reveal

Nintendo's E3 Direct yesterday brought the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate community and wider FGC together with the hype reveal of Kazuya Mishima as the next DLC character for the massive crossover, but that would only help spark a duel of diction shortly thereafter.

Debate quickly broke out between all sides regarding the usage of the fighting game term "Shoto" used by some to describe the Tekken character, which was rebuffed by many in the FGC and Smash scene. Do they have a point though?

Did Masahiro Sakurai and Katsuhiro Harada hint at Kazuya in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate months prior to his reveal?

Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken series was recently unveiled to be the upcoming character behind Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Challenger Pack 10 of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. This was quite the surprise for fighting game fans, but there's reason to believe that Masahiro Sakurai and Kutsuhiro Harada may have actually hinted at this event in the months prior.

Earlier this year, we saw the 26-year anniversary of Tekken back on March 31, 2021. To commemorate the occasion, Sakurai posted some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate pics that highlighted a recurring event in the Tekken series. Being that the Mii Brawler had Heihachi Mishima's costume parts via DLC, there was no reason to be suspicious of this being any sort of hint at the time.

Tekken's Kazuya Mishima was recently announced to be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of the Fighter Pass Vol. 2's Challenger Pack 10. More information about Kazuya in Super Smash Bros. One thing is clear about Kazuya Mishima in Smash Ultimate: this is a fighter with a rather large pool of moves to attack with during gameplay. This isn't too surprising as Kazuya hails from a fighting game. Fellow fighting game reps Ryu, Ken and Terry Bogard also have a larger than average number of attacks contained within their movesets. To tide us over until June 28, Masahiro Sakurai provided fans with a sneak peek at about 32 of Kazuya's attacks via a one minute clip.

What characters are we expecting to see revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighter Pass Vol 2 for E3 this year?

With E3 2021 upon us and the customary Nintendo Direct along with it, the anticipation is quite high to see what Nintendo has in store for us at what usually ends up being their biggest reveal opportunity of the year. As usual, one of the things people are most curious about, and that of which we here at EventHubs are keeping our eyes on, is who's next in the DLC Fighter Pass 2 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, following Min Min from ARMS, Steve from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 and Pyra/Mythra from Xenoblade 2.

As always, speculation is rampant across the entire internet regarding who will be the next newcomer for Nintendo's massive gaming crossover party, and those of us here at EventHubs obviously have our own thoughts and ideas of what might be coming up this Tuesday. With this in mind, I grouped up with my colleagues Dakota "DarkHorse" Hills and our Smash expert Justin "AdaptiveTrigger" Gordon to talk about who we're expecting to see (not necessarily who we want). So without further ado, here are our picks — 2 each — for what's left for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's DLC.

Although there was severe lack of Final Fantasy 7 content in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when the game first came out, this was seemingly remedied when Sephiroth was added as a DLC fighter.

For quite some time now, Kicdon Smash has been releasing new pieces featuring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fan artwork. It appears that Kicdon is quite the Final Fantasy 7 fan as every image has either Cloud, Sephiroth or some Final Fantasy 7 reference in it.

A player who has long been a part of the Super Smash Bros. competitive scene, Aziz "Hax" Al-Yami, has been banned from attending the upcoming Smash Summit 11 in any capacity after posting a video accusing one of the Smash scene's most prominent players, William "TSM|Leffen" Hjelte, of abusing his popularity and influence.
