Cory Bell and Olaf Redland share their Samurai Shodown tier list

We've got yet another Samurai Shodown tier list, this time coming out of sunny southern California as Victrix|Cory Bell has teamed up with OlafRedland to order all 16 of game's characters.

Both of these players have been more or less living and breathing SamSho since it dropped last month as they try to become the best in a region that's known for having particularly stiff fighting game competition no matter what game you're talking about.

Defend the North returns bigger and better than ever in 2019 with over double the attendees and more experiences than ever

Since becoming a staple of the fighting game community, Defend the North has continued to grow. It reached a new high this year, posting personal bests in attendance and registration while more than doubling up last year's numbers.

Now boasting stats better than a couple of premiere events, Defend the North is larger than ever. On top of the entrants increase, DTN will be paying out winners and top eight the same day.

Galford can completely avoid traps in Samurai Shodown by making his dog walk over them

Galford and his trusted companion Poppy have been part of the Samurai Shodown series since the very beginning working together as one of the only duos in the fighting game which apparently has its own unique advantages.

The recently rebooted Samurai Shodown also features a new fighter in the form of Wu Ruixiang, who battles mostly with traps and magic which apparently has no effect on dogs.

KaneBlueRiver releases his Samurai Shodown tier list

Mostly recognized for his success at Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, KaneBlueRiver is an individual with a lot of talent when it comes to fighting games. It seems that he's been spending some time playing the recently released Samurai Shodown.

Earlier today, KaneBlueRiver unveiled his tier list for Samurai Shodown. Like others before him, he placed Genjuro and Tam Tam at the very top. Notably, Galford is also located in the S tier category.

EVO 2019 is likely going to have huge announcements for the fighting game community, let's speculate about what we'll probably see

EVO 2019 is perhaps the biggest fighting game tournament of the year. It will be taking place on August 2nd through the 4th in Las Vegas.

With every year, it becomes more apparent that the companies behind our favorite fighting games are using this event to make major announcements. This year is likely to be no exception, especially if we take Mark "MarkMan" Julio's recent tweet into consideration.

Ukyo cosplayer wins Samurai Shodown tournament with Ukyo

Samurai Shodown's meta has had interesting developments since its release. For the most part, it's generally been accepted that Genjuro and Tam Tam are the two best characters in the game.

Somewhere in the middle, Ukyo appears to be a fairly decent character that isn't overwhelmingly strong but isn't weak either. Over the course of the weekend, WP | K2 was able to prove that Ukyo can win a tournament.

Today is the final day to register for the record-breaking EVO 2019 as organizers contemplate overhauling payout structure

EVO 2019 is shaping up to be probably the biggest year ever for the massive fighting game event dating back to the 90's, and today is the last day you can make sure you can get in on the action yourself by registering online.

Registration is set to close tonight, July 14, at 8:00 p.m. PDT, so now's your last chance to score tickets to the main event or finals day / confirm the status of your current order.

At the same time, it's appearing as though the main EVO tournament organizers are looking into updating their payout structure for the first time since 2002.

The King of Fighters 14 was SNK's first attempt at a new major fighting game in many years after their prior move away from standard console and arcade releases. This gamble appears to have paved the way for the current trajectory of the company and made the newly released Samurai Shodown possible with fan support.

Speaking with Polygon just prior to Samurai Shodown's launch, Producer Yasuyuki Oda and Director Nobuyuki Kuroki revealed why the game was chosen within SNK as the next big title for them and their decision making process — and much of it boils down to fan support and fighting game community interest.

Samurai Shodown's Version 1.02 update fixes bug that would treat completed matches as rage quits among other changes

Samurai Shodown launched with a patch that cut the game's input delay in half down to only four frames, but the team over at SNK seems to still be hard at work trying to fix some of the other issues that have been affecting the game the past few weeks.

The Version 1.02 update is now available to download for Samurai Shodown players which fixes a bug that would treat completed ranked matches as rage quits and hurt players' online standing in the process along with some other changes.
