Blastoise Pokkén Tournament DX gameplay footage

Blastoise will be released in Pokkén Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch on March 23, 2018 along with the rest of Wave 2. In a lot of ways, Blastoise serves as sort of a rival to Charizard considering that Blastoise has the advantage in the most iconic weakness triangle.

This pure water type Pokémon is noted as being part of power class of characters in this title. That likely means he'll boast a lot of damage behind his attacks.

It might be a good idea to check out some gameplay footage for this titanic turtle before he actually releases if you plan on putting some time into it. Allister Singh has uploaded some footage that features its appearance at the Spring Fist tournament that took place on March 17th JPT.

Despite Blastoise's size, it is actually fairly mobile. Surf is clearly being used to augment its forward approach. It continues to use what appears to be its withdraw ability to defend and attack at the same time.

There is some deceptive range present here thanks to Blastoises water pumps that sit on his shoulders. He can blast the opponent with high pressured water.

Finally, its mega evolution, Mega Blastoise, also makes an appearance if certain conditions are fulfilled.

The EVO 2018 game lineup will be announced on February 6th, so let's speculate - Which games seem like locks, and which games might be in trouble?

After the massive hype of EVO Japan 2018, EVO staffer MarkMan stepped up on stage and gave people some hype stuff to look forward to. First of all, EVO Japan was confirmed to return next year, to much joy, but we were also promised that the EVO 2018 lineup will be officially unveiled on February 6th.

Getting the official EVO lineup is always a very big deal, and everyone's always sweating it, hoping that they're game of choice will make the cut.

Of course, every year we keep hearing about 7 games for the EVO lineup, and while EVO Japan did indeed cut off at 7 titles, EVO in Las Vegas has actually stuck with 9 games for the last 3 years running.

While there's no way of telling how many games are going to be part of EVO 2018 until we get the official announcements over and done with, we can still have a look at how various games' chances seem to be stacking up, leading up to the February 6 reveal.

So, what does the situation look like for the games that are battling for a coveted main stage spot at EVO 2018? You can find my thoughts on the matter below, where I've divided it up in two categories, with 6 games I think are locks, and 6 games I think are in trouble.
