Despite all this, there's a chance that MvC4 could still be on the way. The brightest glimmer of hope comes from the fact that NeoGAF user Ryce has declared a reveal at PlayStation Experience.

Whether you can accept the departure from the old style or not, it's hard to argue that these images aren't beautiful in their own right, featuring amazing work from several of Capcom's finest, including Shinkiro, Bengus and Kinu Nishimura.

The huge roster of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 brought out some truly spectacular art during Capcom's golden age, catch a large part of it in this gallery

After the great success Capcom and Marvel's partnership saw, in arcades in particular, they decided to pull out all the stops and make a game with a roster so huge, most of us at the time couldn't even believe it.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 truly brought together a monstruous roster with all-stars from both Marvel and Capcom's side, along with a bunch of somewhat dubious choices, and even a few original characters to top it all off. The art during this time was pure Capcom nostalgia, and I'm sure anyone who experienced these games at their prime will have strong feelings whenever they see this artstyle.

Here's some amazing pieces from Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. Make sure to check back later on for further posts on the art of the various collaborations between Marvel and Capcom.

No health, no X-Factor, and an OVC at the buzzer: This Phoenix Wright comeback is still among the best we've ever seen

Something about Marvel vs. Capcom 3 series comebacks is simply magical. Part of it is probably due to the fact that often times, one mistake can spell the end for you from the very start.

Seeing one character battle back and take out an entire opponent's team without the use of X-Factor always brings the hype, and not only did this happen at the Friday Night Farofa weekly event in Brazil back in 2013, but it featured a character that takes a lot of know-how to master -- Phoenix Wright.

The clip hit Twitter again this morning, and features a 14-year-old player by the name of Gabriel found himself down to his last character and with little to no health left. After his X-Factor ran out, the Phoenix Wright player managed to hit the "Objection!" and enter his powered up state.

Making his way through his opponent's first two characters with a series of tricky mix ups and overhead attacks, the final read at the buzzer took some incredibly fast thinking and was most impressive. As to not spoil it, we'll stop there. Check out the amazing comeback below.

We have made edits to the story in order to reflect this, and have decided to keep this story here on the front page so that we can relive the amazing moment and share it with those who may not have seen it yet.

Justin Wong entered into the Guinness World Records not once, but twice for accomplishments in the Evolution Tournament series

Justin Wong is considered to be a top player in many Capcom fighting games. Perhaps most notably, he is considered to be one of the best players ever within the Marvel vs. Capcom series.

It seems that the Guinness World Records has taken notice of Justin's accomplishments and sent him not one, but two plaques.

One of the records was awarded to Justin Wong as a result of winning the most Evolution Tournaments of a single game (Marvel vs. Capcom 2) between the years of 2002 and 2010. The other record was awarded to Justin Wong for winning the most Evolution Tournaments of any game between the years of 2002 and 2014 (which is inclusive of the other reward).

Justin Wong won the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 tournament at EVO for 6 times between 2002 and 2010, while winning any tournament at EVO for 8 times for 2002 and 2014. It will likely be a very long time before anybody will be able to surpass these records.

'90s comic book art coupled with classic Capcom visuals - Relive the glory days with art from a few of Marvel and Capcom's very first collaborations

If there's one thing we had an abundance of back in the '90s, it was fighting games. Wherever you looked, a bunch of really awesome fighting games were available from a variety of different publishers, but the undisputed kings of the genre in the public eye were Capcom.

This status got elevated further when Capcom started making fighting games featuring Marvel characters, with Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men: Children of the Atom, which eventually evolved into crossovers in the form of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter and X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and finally spawned the beginning of the stuff of legends with the very first Marvel vs. Capcom.

Here, you can see some really killer art from these old gems. Make sure to check back later on for further posts on the art of the various collaborations between Marvel and Capcom.

One of Marvel vs. Capcom 3's more obscure character choices makes her movie debut: Watch X-23 rip it up in the official 'Logan' trailer

The internet is abuzz today, as the first official trailer for the new "Logan" feature film has been unleashed upon the masses.

Considered the third part in the series of Wolverine solo movies, Marvel Comics' triple-clawed X-Man is returning to the big screen on March 3rd, 2017. And this time he's joined by a very special sidekick.

Back in early 2011, X-23 made her first fighting game appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Fans were surprised to see Marvel add such an unexpected character to the playable roster, especially considering the demand for more popular characters. But with her popularity in the comic book realm, it made sense.

Six years later, we get to see her on the big screen for the very first time. Needless to say, it's great to see more obscure characters getting their time in the limelight.

Early next month, we'll be seeing Dr. Strange hit theaters. Let's hope he hits someone with a few reps of the Impact Palm loop.

In the meantime, you can catch a glimpse of X-23's movie debut in the gallery below. For the trailer, be sure to hit the jump.

Updated: The results are in! To see how EventHubs readers voted, be sure to hit the jump.

Earlier: While we're aware that Marvel vs. Capcom 4 seems like a long-shot at best (though the same was said of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 before its reveal), it's still fun to think of what might become if such a project happened.

As such, we've made two polls (one for Marvel, one for Capcom), where we ask you, our readers, which characters you would like to see RETURN if the franchise got a new installment.

Although Capcom might not have as many viable choices as Marvel, there's still a plethora of characters to choose from, from a huge variety of different franchises. As such, we've limited it only to characters who were in the previous games, leaving you to vote on who you'd like to see make a comeback if we got MvC4.

You can find the full poll below, where you may choose up to 3 different characters, in keeping with the series' team spirit, you'd like to see return from Capcom's side of the cast.
