Here's a look at the official artwork for Female Terry Bogard's three outfits in SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy

Many were very surprised to hear that Terry Bogard would be joining the all female cast of SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy. In order to achieve this, Terry Bogard was... made into a female.

Of course, this isn't even the first time we've seen Terry Bogard as a woman. If Darkstalkers character Demitri uses his Midnight Bliss super on Terry Bogard in SNK vs. Capcom: SvC Chaos, he briefly becomes a "she."

Terry Bogard will be joining all the other female characters in SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy as a playable fighter. This 2v2 tag game will also allow you to play as Athena Asamiya, Kula Diamond, Mai Shiranui, Leona Heidern, Yuri Sakazaki, Nakoruru, Shermie, Sylvie Paula Paula, Zarina, Love Heart, Mian, Luong, and Mui Mui.

Like all the other characters, Terry Bogard will have three costumes to choose from. There will also be some customization options to help players personalize their favorite characters.

"Fatal Cutie" Terry Bogard will have a female variant of his normal attire, some sort of steampunk cowgirl outfit, and a cheerleader costume. It doesn't look like Terry is particularly comfortable with this situation.

Have a look at the official artwork for the three costumes:

Terry Bogard, Area, and Sharon coming to Fighting EX Layer as DLC

It has been revealed that Terry Bogard from SNK's Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series will be joining the roster of Fighting EX Layer. This came as a very quick tease.

During the trailer, Terry was only shown to do his iconic introduction by saying "Hey, c'mon!" No gameplay was actually shown beyond this.

Notably, Terry is wearing his "Fatal Fury" hat rather than his — or rather "her" — "Fatal Cutie" hat. While Terry Bogard will be appearing as a female in SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy, he maintains his iconic appearance in this game.

All of this was shown in a special "upcoming plans" video for Fighting EX Layer. During this video, it was revealed that Pullum Purna and Vulcano Rosso will be added as part of a game update at the end of August or September. Remember that these fighters are completely free of cost!

It is certainly interesting how these Fighting EX Layer characters originally came from a Street Fighter series called the "Street Fighter EX" series. Rather than facing off with the likes of Ryu, they'll now be able to fight Terry Bogard.

Area and Sharon were also teased. More than likely, we'll see them join the fight too.

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy isn't the first time King of Fighters' Terry Bogard has been a woman

The fighting game community cannot get over the big Terry Bogard announcement for SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy that took place yesterday. From fan art to confusion, it feels like everyone is talking about Terry being revealed as female for the upcoming clash of SNK's fierce female characters.

Terry is one of the most popular characters from the King of Fighters and Fatal Fury series, so it stands to reason that many fans seeing him become a woman is a bit of a shock to the system. But did you know this isn't actually the first time Terry has been female?

Twitter users Gatoray and Majinken1987 recently pointed out that you can actually find a female Terry in SNK vs. Capcom: SvC Chaos. Though she technically isn't playable (at least not in that form), it definitely looks like SNK took their inspiration for the new female Terry from this crossover fighting title.

SvC Chaos was released back in 2003, and this was essentially SNK's version of the Capcom and SNK crossover. Within the game are characters from each company's various IPs, including Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, King of Fighters, and Samurai Shodown.

Among the Capcom side of the roster was Darkstalkers' popular vampire, Demitri, and included in his move set was his Midnight Bliss super. For those unfamiliar, this attack saw Demitri float toward the opponent, greet them, then transform them into something else — the males would become female, while the females usually sported something more casual after the transformation.

Demitri has been doing this move since back in the Darkstalkers days, and there are alternate forms for each of the characters on the SvC Chaos roster. Though the opponent does not stay in their changed form after the super animation is complete — meaning female Terry wasn't technically playable — the concept of making Terry into a woman has been made reality in the past, though in SNK Heroines she is fleshed out as a full-on playable fighter.

Rick Sanchez apparently portal hopped to an SNK sprite dimension; Sabockee's fighting game sprite work sees various characters with retro looks

Today we're bringing you a handful of Sabockee's wonderful sprites that see fighting game characters as they might have looked if included in Capcom vs. Street Fighter, SNK titles or even Street Fighter 3.

Some of these are straightforward replications of the popular characters, but others have something of a twist. Those are namely the Majin Buu variations on fighters like Geese Howard, Morrigan, Chun-Li and Guile.

We even get a surprise cameo of Rick Sanchez from Adult Swim's Rick and Morty as it seems he's crossed through a portal into a universe where everything is SNK from 20 years ago themed.

At first thought we figured it'd be cool to see Rick in a fighting game, but then we quickly remembered he'd probably just utterly destroy any and all opponents with little to no effort. Maybe not the best idea.

Unfortunately these are all pretty small to begin with, so clicking on each thumbnail won't do a ton in the way of enhancement. They're still really cool though, and well worth a look over for any fighting game fan.

Check out the full gallery below and be sure to head over to Sabockee's Deviant Art page to see the plethora of additional sprites just like these. Let us know which were your favorites in the comments.

'Fatal Cutie' Terry Bogard joins SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy

NIS America and SNK have made the final launch roster character reveal for SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy this morning. Terry Bogard joins the battle, and as we anticipated, Terry is now female.

Terry wears a similar outfit to what we're used to seeing the male counterpart don, however the shirt and jeans are much shorter — she's actually got jean shorts on, it seems. Instead of the trademark hat saying "Fatal Fury" on it, it now says "Fatal Cutie."

This version of Terry appears to have many of the moves long-time fans are familiar with. Of course, there are some new tools at her disposal as well.

The reveal trailer doesn't really explain why or how Terry is now female. A mysterious quote in the showcase reads "this is a pocket dimension of my own making," which is likely a cryptic hint at the story mode and probably how this was made possible.

Along with some of the moves Terry has in SNK Heroines, the trailer shows some of her alternate outfits which include a cheerleader uniform and what appears to be some kind of steampunk-style getup. This game features many customization options, though, so you'll be able to add your own flare to Terry when the game drops.

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy is due out on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on September 7th, 2018.

PC Mods: Kolin dresses up as Elsa from Frozen and Kula Diamond from King of Fighters

You might remember a costume that Kolin got that made a reference to Disney's Frozen. It seems that TiggieWhite has gone the extra mile to make Kolin look like Elsa.

Frozen is a movie that has definitely been popular with children. I suppose it's not much of a surprise to hear that Frozen will be appearing in Kingdom Hearts 3.

This is a mod that actually makes a lot of sense. Both Kolin and Elsa have icy abilities. Of course, fighting game fans are probably aware of another female that fits this description.

THEJAMK created a mod that dresses Kolin up as King of Fighter's Kula Diamond. This particular character will also be appearing in SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy.

These mods have been highlighted on the PC Best Mods YouTube channel. Definitely worth checking out.

Be sure to let us know your thoughts about these mods in the comments section.

From Darkstalkers to Street Fighter, Xa-Xa-Xa's fighting game art is somehow both cartoonish and sexy at the same time

Today's fighting game artist spotlight comes from Lille, France as we take a closer look at the work of Xa-Xa-Xa as he brings us some personalized versions of our favorite fighting game combatants.

You'll quickly notice he's a fan of the feminine form as most of his work consists of the ladies of fighting games... not that we're complaining at all.

Xa's art has a very cartoonish style to it, often portraying a lot of his subjects' emotions through somewhat exaggerated eyes. You'll likely be drawn first to the ocular regions as they set the mood for each image.

Despite being toon-like in nature, these characters are most definitely easy on the eyes as some pose in rather risque manners.

The gallery includes fighters from Darkstalkers, King of Fighters, Street Fighter and Sofitia from Soul Calibur, though there isn't a huge amount of character variety as Xa very obviously has his favorites... not that we're complaining at all.

If you like what you see here then please hit up the artist's DeviantArt page for more of his wonderfully stylized work.

Damn... these 'reasons' why people don't play certain fighting games are brutal and really funny

Name any fighting game, any one that ever existed, and you've undoubtedly heard someone give their "reasons" for not playing it or why it's no good.

Whether it be too noob friendly or wasn't released on the right console, people love to complain about things in the fighting game community. All of us do it, whether we're willing to admit it or not. (Menat's standing heavy punch is cheap and totally unfair!)

Reddit user XXXCheckmate recently put together a graphic that lists some of the most common complaints about many of today's most popular fighting games. They're brutal, funny as hell, and a very accurate depiction of the stuff you'll come across online and in real life.

Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7, Injustice 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, none of these games are safe from the ax, and they're all included here.

"Top 8 is all the same," "F U N C T I O N S," "half the roster is Goku," are among some of the classic complaints we see regularly. I also have to give it up for "no Testament, no invest-ament," because that's pretty darn good.

At the end of the day, it's all in good fun. Everyone is still going to play the games they love, despite the criticism. Unless it's that one Sailor Moon fighting game, then everyone is going to play it because it's perfect...

The weekend is almost here, so relax a little and read over these funny complaints to share a laugh with us.

LiangHubbb's 'Rip Life Bar' series shows just how quickly a fighting game match can snowball in Street Fighter 4, Tekken 7, and King of Fighters

Momentum is a powerful thing in fighting games. Things can very quickly spiral out of control for a player with just one sequence.

If one is not careful, said player will lose their entire health bar despite having a huge advantage in a match. This tends to be the nature of fighting games.

LiangHuBBB has created a series titled "Rip Life Bar" that depicts many of these moments. We often see a near full health bar completely depleted in a matter of seconds.

Keep in mind that these don't necessarily have to be 80 - 90% damage combos. A large number of these sequences actually utilize several resets that the opponent was not able to defend against.

Sequences shown are for Ultra Street Fighter 4, Tekken 7, King of Fighters 13, and King of Fighters 14. In the cases of Akuma and Geese Howard in Tekken 7, these characters have the ability to perform combos — without resets — that pretty much destroy a character at full health.

Dragon Gal's Mui Mui joins the SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy roster

Another new character reveal dropped this morning this time from SNK. Mui Mui has been announced as a playable character in SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy.

In the 2v2 team fighting title, Mui Mui wears a frilly dress as her default look. She also has a panda outfit and her classic costume that pulls straight from the King of Fighters and Dragon Gal series.

In the trailer, we see that Mui Mui has an air dash and appears to have great mobility. She's also combo-heavy, so if you're looking to swag on your opponents you might want to add Mui Mui to your team.

Though her official reveal trailer was released today, we learned of Mui Mui's inclusion on the SNK Heroines roster by way of the game's trophies about two weeks ago. The trophy list prompts players to clear story mode with certain characters, and among those missions we saw Mui Mui and someone named "Terry" listed -- which we believe is Terry Bogard in female form.

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy will have 14 playable characters at launch (again, according to the game's trophies), and we have now seen 13 of them officially revealed. The only remaining mystery is Terry.

If you're looking to play SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy, you'll be able to do so by picking it up on either PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch on September 7th, 2018.
