Supergirl is looking really strong in SonicFox's hands with these frame traps, 50/50s, corner combos, shimmies, and relentless pressure

Despite the lack of a training room in the Injustice 2 beta, the professionals of Netherrealm Studios games have obviously been in the lab with the four characters that are available during the beta. Not surprisingly, SonicFox has been hard at work discovering what kind of tools are available to Supergirl.

LiangHuBBB has uploaded a video on YouTube showcasing some of SonicFox's offensive applications with Supergirl's tools from the Injustice 2 beta. This footage was taken from Reo's stream, which Reo himself has also uploaded nearly two hours worth on his own YouTube channel.

SonicFox has already learned deadly frame traps, 50/50s, corner combos, and shimmy setups with Supergirl as evident by the videos. Based on SonicFox's play style from other NRS games, Supergirl definitely looks like a "SonicFox character" due to the aggressive pressure that Supergirl can unleash.

Updated: Next wave of Injustice 2 beta codes being sent out today

Updated: NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon has announced on Twitter that wave 2 of the Injustice 2 beta codes is being sent out today. If you didn't receive a code last time, be sure to keep an eye on your inbox throughout the day.

Earlier: Earlier this week, the first wave of codes were sent out to many who signed up for the Injustice 2 beta. In fact, thousands of codes have already gone out across Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

If you haven't received a code yet, it looks like you might have to wait a bit longer. Over on the WB Games forums, one NetherRealm Studios representative by the name of NRS-Lanny posted an update about the beta.

The statement explains that the testing has already provided useful information about the online experience, and that several bug fixes have been implemented for the next version of the beta. It also says that the second wave of beta codes will be going out when "version 2" of the beta is released.

Check out the statement below.

Gear definitely makes an impact on gameplay in Injustice 2, this Atrocitus combo hurt much more with an equipped loadout

So I've had the opportunity to play the Injustice 2 beta for a little bit now. At this point, I have yet to use a single piece of gear just to see how difficult things can get against players who do use loadouts.

Last night, I ran into a player that goes by the name of Xbox_Yosh in an Injustice 2 match with both of us playing as Atrocitus. The main difference between us was that he was using a loadout filled with decent gear while I wasn't using anything (his Atrocitus was also level 20 while mine was level 9).

Surely this wouldn't make that big of a difference right?... I ended up getting completely destroyed. Not only was I being fundamentally outplayed by Xbox_Yosh, but I just couldn't match his damage output by a large margin.

It was at this point where I asked this player if we could perform the exact same combo to see just how much of a difference in damage output we were getting. Below, you'll see the results and after the jump you'll see the video containing the combo that we both did.

Injustice 2 has its own Blanche! Keep your eye out for the interactable in the Metropolis bar

Mortal Kombat X fans are very familiar with the old woman interactable in the game's Marketplace stage. Most commonly referred to as "Blanche," players were able to ferociously toss the unsuspecting senior at their opponent for some extra damage.

It appears as though Injustice 2 is keeping with the tradition, only this time the role belongs to a wistful bar-goer.

In the tavern portion of the Metropolis stage, you will find one drinker sitting with his back to the bar, facing the action. Get in close and you can chuck the poor guy at your opponent, sending him flying off screen when he makes contact.

Check it out in the GIF below.

Five different loadouts, 'ability' slots that add new moves, and color changes: Here's how Injustice 2's gear customization works

Earlier today, we saw NetherRealm Studios' Injustice 2 Watchtower live stream. The broadcast gave us our first glimpse of Robin in action, featured a Q&A with Ed Boon, and revealed that beta codes would begin hitting player inboxes on the broadcast concluded.

Among the excitement, we also learned more about Injustice 2's gear system, specifically how it functions.

At the end of each match, players receive different items that they can equip onto their favorite characters to make them stronger. Improvements to health, defense, ability, and strength are determined by the level and quality of gear you slap onto your fighter.

Below is a quick gallery showing the customization menus and some of the different items you can get.

A sword, explosive batarangs and teleports, Robin is absolutely vicious in Injustice 2; see his official gameplay reveal here

We just caught our first in-game footage of Robin, (the Damien Wayne version) and he's a downright deadly character.

From the trailer we see the hooded Robin utilize a sword as his primary weapon, but his approach is greatly augmented by various batarang throws that zip around the screen and can explode at various times.

Teleports and quick movements make Robin appear to be a nimble character, but also apparently capable of some zoning. Here are clips from the reveal:

Could Injustice 2 have a 2v2 mode in addition to its default 1v1 mode? We take a look at the beta FAQ and latest trailer for potential hints

There's a very interesting tidbit of information contained within the Injustice 2 FAQ. Specifically what I'm referring to is this:

"The Injustice 2 Multiplayer beta is 1v1 online play. This will help us test and optimize our online play."

It is specifically noted that the mode that will be playable is 1v1.

If you were to challenge somebody to a "1v1 online match" in Street Fighter 5, wouldn't that be redundant? Why would it be necessary to refer to a match between players in a fighting game as being 1v1 unless there were other modes?

One possibility is that it is just noting that lobbies with multiple people wouldn't be available for the beta test. The other possibility is a bit more interesting though.
