Injustice 2 is REALLY addicting; minor changes from Gods Among Us make major impacts to the meta of the upcoming title

So by this point, I've had the opportunity to play the beta for Injustice 2: Gods Among Us fairly extensively. Now while I by no means consider myself anywhere near the level of the professional players, I'd like to think I have a pretty good understanding of where the meta could head in the future beyond the beta.

I've seen a lot of complaints from a variety of people, who I believe most likely have not had the opportunity to actually try the beta yet, that Injustice 2 is far too similar to the first Injustice game. While this isn't entirely untrue, I do not think it paints the entire picture.

While the changes to Injustice 2's main mechanics from the original Injustice game are quite minor, these minor changes will have large impacts on the direction of Injustice 2's meta game. Injustice 2 is a different game from Injustice, albeit with many similarities.

I do realize that many people are a bit bitter that they haven't been given the chance to try the beta out for themselves yet, but I do highly recommend looking at the game with an open mind. This game is extremely addicting, far more so than Injustice 1 to me personally.

How fast can a life bar disappear? Everything from 0.5 to 8 seconds depending on the game - LiangHuBBB compilation shows some truly terrifying moments

We've all had those rounds where just every single thing goes wrong - we block the crossup the wrong way, we guess wrong on wakeup, we make an execution error at the worst point in time... Well, imagine all of this happening in the very same round, and you pretty much have this video.

One of LiangHuBBB's latest, it shows just how fast you can be defeated in a variety of games. Some of these situations at the end are glitched, though which ones are specified in the video description, but the vast majority of them are regular situations from regular matches.

Black Canary revealed for Injustice 2 - featuring game play within trailer

Black Canary has just been revealed via IGN's YouTube channel. After the jump, you'll be able to see Black Canary's trailer featuring some of her game play.

As expected, she hosts attacks that feature her screaming like a loud siren at her opponents in order to inflict damage upon them. Interestingly enough, she appears to have a lot of grapples.

It appears as though her Super attack can be triggered while in the air. Whether she is only able to trigger it in the air or is capable of using it while on the ground is currently unknown.

During the first Injustice game, we only saw a picture of Black Canary that Green Arrow (from the other universe/reality) was admiring. Injustice 2 will let us play as Black Canary.

New character profiles for Injustice 2 - Robin, Bane, Poison Ivy, and Brainiac

New character profiles for the recently announced Robin, Brainiac, Poison Ivy, and Bane have now been added to the official Injustice website.

We saw these characters in the most recent story trailer. As of right now though, we only have game play footage of Robin.

Bane is the only returning fighting among these characters, and yet he looks completely different than he did from his appearance in the first Injustice game.

Sorry, Space Ghost and Granny Goodness fans... both characters disconfirmed for Injustice 2

Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios, Ed Boon, joined in on the Injustice 2 Watchtower stream to answer questions about the upcoming game. He touched on several different subjects, and had particularly interesting things to say about its DLC.

“One of the most exciting things about this sequel... there are some really interesting and really unique characters that are deeper in the roster that we're now able to do. Little more obscure, but just as interesting and just as cool,“ Boon said on stream.

He cites Atrocitus as one of the lesser-known characters that made it onto the main roster. But though some more obscure fighters will be present in Injustice 2, it seems the choices won't be too far out there.

Boon goes on to deconfirm Space Ghost and Granny Goodness as DLC. Sorry, Space Ghost and Granny Goodness fans.

Think Supergirl is too strong in Injustice 2? This video detailing her exploitable weaknesses may (or may not) change your mind

So the Injustice 2 beta has been out for a few days now, as we are currently in the second wave of the beta. One character in particular has been on a lot of people's minds based on playing her, playing against her, or just watching her gameplay through streams.

This character is Supergirl. The general outcry is that this character needs to be nerfed or "normalized" as many believe her to be too strong, despite the limited amount of time the community has had to explore her strengths and weaknesses with a very limited roster.

Something I called early on was that Supergirl would be frustrating for a lot of online players when a character breakdown was first revealed for Supergirl.

ANBU_SonGoku of the ANBU Fight Club has released a video detailing some of Supergirl's weaknesses that some players may have overlooked. One of the weaknesses explored for Supergirl are the apparent gaps found in her combo strings.

After the jump, you'll be able to find a video this video detailing the subject of Supergirl.

It's freakin' gorgeous, but very much like the first Injustice - Maximilian's Injustice 2 beta impressions; talks netcode, gameplay and more

NetherRealm Studios went live with the Injustice 2 beta on Tuesday, and a select group of players lucky enough to receive codes have been able to play the upcoming title at limited capacity.

Maximilian was able to get his hands on the beta, and has released an impressions video to share with us his experiences thus far. Keep in mind this is one of the earliest playable versions of the game, and only four characters are currently available.

It seems developers have made it a priority to highlights Injustice 2's biggest new feature, custom gear, as you'll get a ton of it as you play through the beta. Returning characters Superman and Batman feel very similar to their Injustice 1 iterations, and their combos are "virtually identical" according to Max.

Max also comments on the game's netcode, which you'll hear about along with plenty more in the video below.
