All Sol players clearly share a hive mind, and this zany Guilty Gear Strive clip proves it

Picking Sol Badguy isn't an automatic win in Guilty Gear Strive, but with his incredibly powerful and relatively simple rush down offense the franchise poster boy has been widely deemed one of the matter of fact top tiers in the game.

As per the usual when a character emerges as particularly strong early in a game's life, they'll often start getting a reputation for being easily accessible and formulaic. Whether or not that's indeed the case for Sol, a recently posted and hilarious clip of two Sol players clashing with strings of the exact same moves sure makes it feel that way.

Is Strive the Street Fighter 5 of Guilty Gear games?

The Guilty Gear community seems to be widely enjoying the latest franchise entry in Strive, but we've heard some comparisons to Street Fighter 5 (which, especially around launch, is not a good thing) floating about. We decided to dig into this further and brought on Nick "MajinTenshinhan" Taylor to the podcast to delve into it.

The most obvious place this starts is in the simplification of general play in order to attract newer players who may otherwise feel turned off if they are not able to garner wins all that quickly. Does Strive commit a sin in this arena, or does it tactfully dance with both new and more seasoned competitors?

'We have no say on the matter' - Arc System Works speaks on lack of rollback for Dragon Ball FighterZ and Granblue Fantasy: Versus

Arc System Works recently released Guilty Gear Strive into the world. Though it's by no means a perfect game, many have praised Arc System Works for implementing rollback netcode into Guilty Gear Strive, which causes the online modes to have really smooth gameplay.

Considering how Arc System Works has successfully implemented rollback netcode into Guilty Gear Strive and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, many have wondered why they can't do the same for Dragon Ball FighterZ and Granblue Fantasy: Versus since Arc System Works acts as the developer for those titles. In a recent interview with Comunidad, Takeshi Yamanaka and Akira Katano of Arc System Works spoke on the matter.

From Kill Bill Chun to wrestler Juri, Quasimodox has some of the best fighting game art around

Those who frequent EventHubs know I like posting my art galleries, and this one from Quasimodox might be my favorite in a long time... possibly ever.

I'd first like to point out two of the most inspired R. Mika drawings I've ever seen: the first being the visceral, violent, polar opposite of what we normally see her as and the second being the gorgeous image from the banner.

Guilty Gear Strive may have more input lag on PlayStation 5 than its PlayStation 4 counterpart

Guilty Gear Strive players have been wondering how the next-gen version of the game on PlayStation 5 performs on a technical level compared to its other counterparts since it released, and now we may have a few answers on that subject.

After previously testing the input lag on both the PlayStation 4 and PC versions, Nigel 'Noodalls' Woodall found that the PS5 version of Strive may have more input lag than the PS4 — though there are a few caveats that could impact the numbers.

KizzieKay declares that every Guilty Gear Strive tier list is wrong... except for his

We've seen a number of tier lists for Guilty Gear Strive now that the dust has settled. It's starting to become increasingly clear which characters are the best in the game since Sol Badguy, Ramlethal and May keep ending up at the very top.

However, a recent video by PG|KizzieKay showcases a new tier list for Guilty Gear Strive. In the video's title and description, KizzieKay declares that all tier lists for Guilty Gear Strive are wrong... except for his. A bold statement for sure, but it does somehow come across as believable considering KizzieKay's longtime experience and achievements in the Guilty Gear franchise.

Lone I-No player makes miracle comeback in Japan pro 15v15 Guilty Gear Strive tournament taking out almost half the team solo

A little while back the Japan vs. North America 10v10 exhibition in Guilty Gear Strive almost had DEB make the solo team comeback at the end before coming up just shy, but now someone else managed to pull off the miracle upset.

Earlier today, Japanese pros came together for a massive 15v15 Strive tournament that looked to be a blowout until a lone I-No player managed to do the impossible as the final member left on their team.

So Guilty Gear Strive's first DLC character is totally going to be Happy Chaos, right?

With Guilty Gear Strive officially releasing last month to much fanfare, obviously minds have turned quite quickly to which characters might be joining the roster throughout it's upcoming Season Pass. This first Season Pass (hopefully first of many) will add five characters to the roster throughout the rest of 2021, as detailed in the official roadmap.

This roadmap doesn't reveal the identities of any characters in the pass (though there is a supposed datamine going around which may have spilled the beans on who's coming), but it does tell us that the first character is going to be someone brand new, followed by a returning character the month after. There's one character in particular who fairly obviously fits the bill for inclusion, and I'm pretty sure he's not only going to be joining the roster, but that he'll be the first character added. I am, of course, talking about Happy Chaos.

Guilty Gear Strive can take longer to boot up than it takes Super Mario 64 speed runner to defeat Bowser

With just under three weeks logged in the wild, it's safe to say that the new Guilty Gear Strive is a hit with fans. That said, it may not quite have the best marks when it comes to quality of life experiences, particularly with load times.

A Spanish gamer who goes by the handle @BurstRecap found the wait for Strive to boot up and so long that they decided not only to clock it, but to give us an odd but effective comparison as they pit the process against a Super Mario 64 speed runner to see if they can finish the game's first boss before Strive hits its main menu.

EventHubs' Guilty Gear Strive tier list

We may be just a tad biased, but we've put together what we think is the best and most accurate Guilty Gear Strive tier list to date. Nick "MajinTenshinhan" Taylor and Dakota "DarkHorse" Hills lend their informed opinions and voices as we construct the official EventHubs Guilty Gear Strive tier list in real time.

Strive's initial 15 character roster has been under community microscopes for almost three weeks now, and while there's most certainly more to be unearthed, we're starting to get some clear early pictures of who has the sauce and who does not.

HiFight teaches how to win as Nagoriyuki in Guilty Gear Strive in 2 minute video guide

At the moment, Nagoriyuki is looking like one of the more difficult characters to win with in Guilty Gear Strive. On average, Nagoriyuki ranked rather poorly on the tier lists constructed by Japanese players CO|Go1, CO|Dogura, AMTRS|KojiKOG and Kyamei.

Despite this, HiFight has seemingly been investing some time into the noble vampire samurai. He recently released a video last for 2 minutes that provides numerous tips on how to win as Nagoriyuki.

Guilty Gear Strive reportedly has 4 frames of input lag on PlayStation 4 while PC version provides potentially better results

The FGC has a long history of hunting down the version of a fighting game release with the least amount of input lag, which has become easier to test in recent years thanks to advancements in technology.

Now that Guilty Gear Strive has been in the hands of players for a few weeks, some of the more technically capable members of the community have put the game's latency to the test between PlayStation 4 and PC.
