Koei Tecmo is suing the maker of explicit DVDs featuring Dead or Alive characters

The Dead or Alive franchise is widely known for its copious amounts of fan service and "hot babes," but taking things outside of the game can land you in some really hot water.

Koei Tecmo announced this week that the company plans to sue the alleged seller of an explicit and unauthorized DVD for copyright infringement that contains DOA characters with police moving to charge them with a criminal offense as well.

The era of delay-based netcode may finally be over for good in fighting games depending on what SNK does with The King of Fighters 15

The father of rollback netcode, GGPO, first debuted back in 2006 to show the world a widely better way to play fighting games online, but even as soon as this year, developers have continued to use their older delay-based solutions to the disappointment of many players.

Much of that has started to shift over the past two or three years, however, and now the fighting game community is looking at a potential / probable timeline where no new title is made with delay-based networking ever again — though that kinda hinges on what SNK is planning to do with The King of Fighters 15.

Tekken 7 named fighting game of the generation by the EventHubs community

Update: The community has spoken! With more than 1,600 votes cast and plenty of great candidates to chose from, Tekken 7 has been crowned as the fighting game of the generation by all of you, the readers of EventHubs. You can check out the final poll numbers in the original story below and see how close some of the rankings are.

It's kinda hard to believe, but the next generation of consoles is no longer on the horizon. The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will be here in just a few short days.

Though many players will be looking forward with what's about to come, it's also a great time to reflect on the fighting games that defined the eighth generation these past seven years from Killer Instinct to Granblue Fantasy: Versus.

Martial artists react to Dead or Alive 6 fighting moves despite certain... distractions

Martial arts expert Gemma Nguyen and stunt performer Yoshi Sudarso recently appeared in Gamology's video that has them analyzing the realism of fighting moves in Dead or Alive 6. We've previously seen Nguyen perform real life versions of attacks found in Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 5.

Throughout the course of the video, Nguyen and Sudarso couldn't help but comment on the shown jiggle physics and "butt attacks." It ends up being a fairly funny video as a result.

Dead or Alive director reveals that Koei Tecmo searches for 'cuties' when adding guest characters to their series

The Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable that aired about a month ago gave some of our favorite developers an opportunity to communicate with the fans amidst the E3 2020 and EVO 2020 cancellations. Many of the fighting game devs used this as an opportunity to explain how the roster selection process works.

"What about guest characters?" asked Katsuhiro Harada of Bandai Namco. "How do you decide on them?" Yohei Shimbori, director for the Dead or Alive series as of Dead or Alive 5, took on this question on behalf of Koei Tecmo.

Capcom, Bandai Namco, SNK, and more fighting game publishers holding roundtable live stream on August 1, Guilty Gear Strive reveal confirmed

Several major fighting game publishers are gathering together this weekend for a roundtable discussion live stream. Representatives from Capcom, Bandai Namco, Arc System Works, SNK, Arika, and Koei Tecmo will sit down together on Friday/Saturday at 5 p.m. PT (July 31) / 8 p.m. ET (July 31) / 9 a.m. JST (August 1) for the “Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable.”

The broadcast will see fighting game producers and directors discussing topics chosen by fans before the live stream — which will be airing on the Tekken, Arc System Works, Capcom, and Dead Or Alive YouTube channels. According to Gematsu, we'll be hearing about things such as the fighting games themselves, eSports, and more.

Though it's not the latest entry in the series, Dead or Alive 5 still remains a favorite among players and the community for almost eight years at this point.

Dead or Alive 6's final major update is now available along with $50 worth of new DLC costumes

Dead or Alive 6 has been one of the wilder roller coasters of a fighting game since its reveal almost two years ago though it appears that ride is now passing its final corner and heading for the home stretch to the end.

The game's Version 1.22 update is now live to download across all available platforms which both Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have stated and reiterated will be the final major patch for the title coming alongside some minor balance changes and two last sets of DLC costumes to go out with.

Dead or Alive 6 shows off screenshots of the game's final DLC costumes

Dead or Alive 6 has only been available for a little over one year at this point which was why it was pretty darn surprising when Koei Tecmo revealed the game would stop seeing new content releases fairly abruptly.

The Version 1.22 update for Dead or Alive 6 will seemingly be the fighting game's last major patch for the time being on April 14 with two more sets of costumes marking the end of development that Team Ninja has shared a handful of screenshots of.

Dana White is close to securing a private island to host Ultimate Fighting Champion... and it feels all too familiar for fighting game fans

What a strange year 2020 is turning out to be. Because of the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), many events within and outside the FGC are being canceled for the sake of public health.

It goes without saying that physical sports are among those that are taking a hit as a result. The Ultimate Fighting Championship is a prime example of a celebrated event that is unable to take place as a gathering of too many people at one place would prove to be too risky.

According to TMZ, Dana White, president of the UFC, is incredibly close to securing a deal that would allow the organization to host matches on a private island. This is a theme that sounds far too familiar to fighting game fans...
