Update: Capcom has revealed a few more new quality-of-life improvements coming to Street Fighter 6 with A.K.I.'s update that fall outside of the training mode upgrades, which has been added to the story below.

Quality-of-life improvements will be coming to Street Fighter 6's training mode on September 27, 2023, and will release alongside A.K.I., on that same day.

Capcom will give players the ability to assign shortcuts without having to use the Function Button. This will speed up some of the processes players use when dialing in the settings in the game's many layered menus.

In the menus Capcom explains that a frame (F) is the smallest unit of time used by the game, with a single frame being 1/60th of a second. The frame meter shows how much time character actions take to perform, with each notch on the meter representing a single frame (1F).

Capcom explains that startup is the time between the start of a move and when it can connect. Total is the time between the start of a move and its end. Advantage is the difference in time between when you and your opponent can act after landing a move. If this number is positive, it means you can act before your opponent can.

It's well known in the Fighting Game Community that players do not need to memorize all of the frame data to enjoy the game, it's simply that knowing the values help you experience the game from a different perspective and make it easier to react to certain moves.

The menus also feature four new Invincibility Icons which have horizontal lines running through them to signify that they have a fully or partially invincible property, either to projectiles, throws or strikes, or some combination of the three.

Lastly, there is an option to Always Repeat Playback added into the Replay menu after you're done Recording an action.

On top of adding more training options, SF6 will soon allow players to turn on / off button release inputs from the character select screen, so users can individually decide if they want negative edge or not.

Plus, there will also be new Custom Room Display Settings to choose from, which Capcom says should make for smoother online tournament and streaming experiences.

As mentioned before, these changes will be coming in just a few short days alongside A.K.I. on Sept. 27.
