Fan makes absolutely killer Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer with the iconic movie theme in full swing
Mortal Kombat 1 is on the precipice of its major launch this month, with those who pre-ordered the Premium Edition being granted early access a week in advance. Those who purchased the pricier game option will be getting their hands on Mortal Kombat 1 next Thursday, so NetherRealm Studios is now officially in the home stretch for pre-launch reveals and PR.
With any game release, the companies behind them typically fire off a launch trailer to celebrate the game dropping and to give those who might be interested in it a taste of what the title has to offer. We haven't seen an official Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer just yet, but a fan recently put one together that is absolutely epic and utilizes the classic Mortal Kombat movie theme for maximum hype.
A Twitter account by the name of PB Records has been consistently creating and uploading fan-made posters and content for Mortal Kombat 1. The finished works are very high quality and could easily pass for the real deal if you were none the wiser.
Though the posters and wallpapers for various characters look great, PB Records may have totally outdone themselves with this fan-made launch trailer.
The showcase kicks off with a visual of the Mortal Kombat symbol and the iconic "MORTAL KOMBAT!" scream. We then see flashes of different characters in-game that are synched up to the heavy drums of a remixed version of the iconic Mortal Kombat movie theme, Techno Syndrome (Mortal Kombat) by The Immortals, which was originally released for the 1995 film.
Having seen so many official fighting game launch trailers throughout my career, I can confidently say that the creator of this one truly understands what goes into them. From the overall pacing to the mixture of gameplay, big cinematic finishers, and PR text like "PREPARE FOR KOMBAT" being injected throughout, this really looks like a legit Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer.
For good measure, PB Records also placed a perfectly timed "GET OVER HERE" from Scorpion into the trailer, and it's the finer details like that that really help hook you in.
Above all else, this fan-created launch trailer just tells me that NetherRealm Studios really needs to use the classic Mortal Kombat movie theme for their official trailer. The song fits so well with the action here, and it is impossible not to get absolutely hyped up with that tune rocking throughout.
