Beware of spoilers and leaks for Mortal Kombat 1 as some early copies now appear to be in the wild

It is getting close to time for Mortal Kombat 1 to finally be unleashed upon the world, which means that it is now time to be wary of what's out there online.

Some early copies of Mortal Kombat 1 appear to have made their way into the wild already ahead of schedule with spoilers and leaks making their way to the internet.

We obviously won't be going into what those leaks currently entail aside from one detail that appeared to show Nitara on the character select screen since she has now been officially announced (and being voiced by Megan Fox).

It's unknown if the decision to go live with Nitara now was due to the leaks or if NetherRealm Studios was always planning to show her off today.

There is more, however, floating around places like Twitter / X, Reddit and YouTube with even more likely to come in the following days, so be careful of where you're looking online.

Warner Bros. does appear to be aggressively going after these leaks and spoilers already too, so this is also a warning for anyone thinking about posting or sharing screenshots or videos early too because you're very likely to get hit with a takedown notice.

We're only about a week away from when MK1 is going to become officially available on September 14 for those who've pre-ordered the Premium or Kollector's Editions of the game, which is probably going to open up the floodgates before the full launch.

If you are worried about seeing anything early, now would be the time to start setting up word filters and being extra careful about the pages you visit, and obviously, not everyone is going to feel that way.

There's still more details we don't yet know about MK1's full launch roster as well as how everyone plays. Plus, there's everything about the Story Mode taking place in a brand new timeline.

Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to release in full on September 19 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC, and while it looked like cross-platform play was recently confirmed for Steam, that no longer seems to be the case at the moment.

Stay frosty out there folks.
