Lars Alexandersson's gameplay revealed in newest Tekken 8 trailer
Lars Alexandersson is the latest character to have a gameplay trailer revealed for Tekken 8. While Lars is the illegitimate child of Heihachi Mishima and half-brother of Kazuya Mishima, he actually doesn't have the Devil Gene, though this is likely something that Kazuya and Jin inherited from Kazumi's side of the family.
Making his debut in Tekken 6, Lars has been an important character in the Tekken series throughout his short time. He was actually the main protagonist in Tekken 6 while being one of the main protagonists in Tekken 7.
Previously, Lars' tagline declared him to be "the one who the one who betrayed his own in order to build a new era." In this latest Tekken 8 trailer, he's now declared as being "the lion of the rebellion."
This seems to be in reference to the fact that Lars is the leader of Yggdrasil, a rebel army that formed out of a faction of the Tekken Force. Yggdrasil is a rebel force that opposes Mishima Zaibatsu, and even considers G Corporation as an enemy.
Since Tekken 7, Lars' fighting style is known as Tekken Forces Martial Arts. As seen in the trailer, many of Lars' attacks utilize lightning and shock effects.
It's demonstrated that Lars has access to some rather tricky mix ups and slippery movement. Based on his animations, he can easily make it seem like he's going to go for something like an overhead, but then go for a low anyhow.
During the trailer, Jack-8 is shown to be Lars' opponent. Though Jack-8 attempts to hit Lars several times, Lars is able to perfectly evade and counterattack thanks to the slipperiness of his movements and attacks.
Just like with the other character trailers, this trailer gives us an opportunity to see Lars' usage of the Heat System and his Rage Art. Check it all out below:
