AI Kratos hits up AI Ed Boon about his chances of getting back into Mortal Kombat 12

Instead of doing more nefarious things with the possibilities of artificial intelligence, the internet instead seems to be focused on using the technology to make people or even fictional characters have whatever random conversations they can think of.

We've already heard the United States presidents argue over their Guilty Gear mains, and now we have AI Kratos asking AI Ed Boon about joining Mortal Kombat 12's roster.

Pro Mortal Kombat player IGLDaddyDab recently released a video using the voice cloning tech to make the MK co-creator and estranged son of Zeus have a little chat, which got the attention of the real developer.

Not bad. At first I was impressed by the AI Ed Boon voice… but after a while it kind of drifted," wrote Boon on Twitter after apparently watching. "Kratos voice seemed pretty good. Guess they had more than audio samples to draw from."

He's right that you won't really mistake AI Boon for the real guy talking like sometimes is the case with the presidents, but it is still cool yet unsettling in the uncanny valley sort of way, which we're not sure is going to get better or worse with time.

Obviously, IGLDaddyDab added in some jokes and puns pertaining to God of War and the Mortal Kombat series including some play on Havik.

Kratos was previously a PlayStation 3-exclusive character for Mortal Kombat 2011, so he's already been in once — but he's got some new weapons and tricks up his sleeve that could make him very different in a game like MK12.

And if Sony makes him exclusive again, the god of war has a suggestion about who to use in his stead.
