Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 mod pack now includes custom character select screen with new announcer
The modding community for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has come so far in just the past year, and now all of their work is starting to look and feel like a brand new experience.
One of the most active among them, Tabs, just released a new update to his ever-growing UMvC3 mod pack that adds a new character select screen to the game for the first attempt at a tournament-ready build.
As can be seen in the footage provided of the new pack, the overwhelming majority of the original cast has been replaced with modded characters that the creators have tried to balance enough to make them usable for mod tournaments.
On top of that, it even includes a new announcer to call out the fighter names, and the pack doesn't just include Tabs' custom characters either considering others like CaliKingz01's Captain Commando, Venom, Carnage, Batsu, Sakura and Bishop are also available to pick among others.

This means that you won't be able to play as the original cast who've been replaced, however, since the community is still trying to work on adding new character slots to Marvel 3's select screen.
We've counted 42 modded characters included in the mod pack plus Strider, Hsien-ko, Amaterasu, Storm, Modok, Ghost Rider, Doctor Doom and Shuma Gorath still free to pick from the old crew.
Obviously, you're not going to be able to easily get this working online, so you're best off playing locally or through a streaming service like Parsec.
Things really are starting to look as though the community can make their own Marvel vs. Capcom game once they break through the last remaining hurdles to mod it fully.
