New Paul Phoenix Tekken 8 gameplay trailer released
Bandai Namco has just released the latest trailer for their upcoming major fighting game, Tekken 8. Keeping with the motif of focusing on specific characters, this new showcase puts Paul Phoenix in the spotlight.
In this full-fledged gameplay trailer, fans are given a great example of what Paul can do in the 8th major installment in the franchise.
The strongest in the universe returns to the big stage in Tekken 8 and comes equipped with powerful punches meant for clobbering his foes. In this trailer, Paul's new design is on full display here, and the character looks absolutely thrilled to be back in the ring.
Various aspects of this fighter are showcased in the trailer, including what appears to be two of his fight intros. Up first, we see Paul go the Street Fighter Cody route and smash through a brick wall with just his fist.
Following that, Paul can be seen gleefully riding his motorcycle into the battle.
We are also given a look at some of Paul's bread and butter attacks and combo strings, including a swift Superman punch and his powerful straight punch to the gut. He also harnesses a hard-hitting armored strike that blows through three hits from Law before smashing the opponent into the corner.
Naturally, the trailer provides a look at what Paul is capable of using Tekken 8's new Heat System. Oh, and we can't forget the helicopter hangar stage that the two do battle on here, which we see a stage transition for as well.
Bandai Namco's new showcase closes out with a full view of Paul's Rage Art in Tekken 8. With this powerful super move, Paul knocks the foe back with a straight punch, strikes a quick pose, then charges up a punch that is so powerful, his muscles grow and completely explode the sleeve of his jacket.
