Getting frustrated with Blanka's heavy Rolling Attack in Street Fighter 6? Here's how to beat it

Longtime Street Fighter fans probably won't be too surprised to hear this, but Blanka is sort of a "troll" character in Street Fighter 6. The character operates at his best when he's up against frustrated and confused opponents.

As it turns out, Blanka's heavy Rolling Attack has been causing players a lot of grief to how deceptively safe it is. In a recently video upload, Jmcrofts covers the best options for countering it.

Blanka's heavy Rolling Attack is -15 on block. While a move this negative on block is usually super punishable, Blanka will rebound in a position that's too far away for most characters to reliably punish. Needless to say, a certain meme suggests that Blanka can win entire matches by simply using this move repeatedly during a match.

It's demonstrated in the video that maneuvers like Ryu's level 1 super, Drive Rush, and Drive Impact will all fail to properly deal with this incredibly annoying attack. In fact, the only known way to punish Blanka's heavy Rolling Attack at the moment is Guile's level 1 super, the Sonic Hurricane.

If it's not possible or too difficult to deal with this special move on the rebound, then this means that the only viable solutions are to perform a Perfect Drive Parry or beat the move. While Street Fighter 4 veterans might think that the best approach is to control it with jabs, this actually doesn't work too well in Street Fighter 6.

Instead, it's best to use a move that's invincible against airborne attacks since most characters in Street Fighter 6 are apparently armed with these sort of moves. An attack like Ryu's Dragon Punch is a good example of a move to use against Blanka's heavy Rolling Attack, but beware of the light and medium versions.

Just to demonstrate that these strategies are practical even in a real match, Jmcrofts searched online for an opposing Blanka player to fight against as Lily. To find out how well this worked, you'll have to check out the video below:
