5 Mortal Kombat characters that aren't as bad as you think
With 11 mainline entries and a handful of spinoffs and side projects, Mortal Kombat has amassed quite a few characters over the last three decades. Some of them stick in our memories as particularly strong and enticing, but for all their successes, Ed Boon and his team have definitely come up with a few less than stellar fighters as well.
Some characters are indeed memorable, but for being oddly designed or perceived as particularly weak in combat. In their new video PNDKM take a look at five characters who are actually better than their particularly poor reputations would have you think.
The scenario where this kind of thing can most easily happen is when the community is too quickly encouraged to write roster members off before fully exploring them. This can occur because a character is seen as a joke or is only available in certain versions of an MK entry (this kind of thing used to happen a lot more often).
Perhaps more commonly, characters who are disliked for having uninspired designs. It's just hard to get much traction if people are disinterested from the character select screen.
In any case, this can leave potential unexplored on the table as people don't realize that certain fighters have ridiculous abilities (such as a 13% jab, or specials that can be paired for ridiculous zoning).
