New tier list featuring participation from 71 top players released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
A new tier list has been released that's being referred to as "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's first official tier list." As such, all characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have been divided up into the S+, S, S-, A+, A-, B+, B-, C+, C-, D+ and D- tier categories.
According to this list, the three strongest characters in the game right now are Steve, Pyra & Mythra and Joker — all DLC characters added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate post launch. Among the 71 top player panelists (which includes MkLeo, Sonix, Dabuz, Big D, BassMage, Esam, Chag, MVD, acola, Asimo and many more), Steve was apparently placed as the best character by 41 of the panelists.
The characters occupying the S tier category are Sonic, Fox, R.O.B., Kazuya, Roy and Peach (and her Echo Fighter Daisy). It appears that Sonic was believed to be the strongest character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by the second highest number of panelists (11 out of 71). Needless to say, it's certainly interesting to think that Sonic would be the best fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate without DLC.
Little Mac and Ganondorf are said to be the overall weakest combatants in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as they are the only two that can be found in the D- tier group. Needless to say, these two fighters tend to not appear at tournaments very often.
Not too far behind Little Mac and Ganondorf in the D tier category are Isabelle, King K. Rool, Zelda, Kirby, Piranha Plant, Mii Swordfighter, Dr. Mario and King Dedede. These fighters tend to require a lot more work to be successful with when compared to the rest of the cast, but many of them have seen their fair share of wins at tournaments before.
