Zangief, Lily, and Cammy trailers revealed for Street Fighter 6
Capcom just showed off the trailers for the final three launch roster characters for Street Fighter 6. This includes the mighty Zangief, the speedy Cammy, and the brand new Lili.
We get to see some gameplay for all three (the bear, the bird, and the bee) in the brand new trailer below.
First up is the Russian wrestler we've seen in almost every Street Fighter entry since his Street Fighter 2 debut: Zangief. The original fighting game grappler most definitely brings his trademark spinning pile drivers back into the fray, but we also saw a few interesting target combos in his arsenal.
His Drive Impact sees him wallop foes with a huge, double-handed chop, and he has a big drop kick attack (shades of R. Mika, if we're being honest) that causes a wall splat. He still retains his patented lariat maneuver, and somewhat surprisingly still has his kick-counter move from Street Fighter 5.
There's more personality in the Iron Cyclone than ever as he lays out opponents with very recognizable wresting moves. At one point he scoops up E. Honda with a routine power slam, and then proceeds to drop an elbow right afterwards.
Though we're somewhat sad to report we didn't spot a green hand in the trailer, Zangief is equipped with plenty of awesome and impactful attacks that are sure to get audiences out of their seats. Bill Goldberg fans will be excited to know that one of Gief's super attacks has him pull off a Jackhammer suplex.
Next up is the franchise's newest fighter: Lily. The young competitor has a wind theme attached to her, and Capcom has given her an appropriate nickname in "the bird." She has two death mallets that she uses to beat her foes with, and can also soar through the air (shades of T. Hawk for sure) with diving, horizontal, and ascending wind attacks.
At one point, Lily pulls out an old camera and takes a photo of her opponent, Blanka. This may be an idle animation (such as Birdie's booger flick in SF5) or a taunt, but it does appear to have a hitbox of sorts attached to it. Lily later shows off a command grab in which she uses her clubs to snag the enemy's neck and flip them around.
There may have been some intention behind showcasing her next to Blanka, as she seems to be a bit of a joke/oaf character as she flubs the ending of her Level 3 Super animation (which appears to be performed while she's in midair).
Last but not least, Cammy the Killer Bee finally gets her SF6 trailer. She's got a whole new look with a pair of pants and a blue jean jacket, but a slew of very familiar attacks.
Hooligan Combo, Canon Strike, Canon Spike, Spiral Arrow, and some Nash-like air scythe kicks make us all but sure Cammy will be her usual quick and often-airborne self here in Street Fighter 6.
