Justin Wong crafts tier list ranking all of his competitive fighting game mains from Storm to Menat and far beyond
There's maybe a handful of people in the world who can claim they have the competitive pedigree and results that Justin Wong has, and many of the characters he's mained over his career have become iconic in their own right too, for better or worse.
The fighting game legend recently crafted a new tier list to rank how strong he believes each of his main picks are / were from Marvel vs. Capcom to Street Fighter and far beyond.
Starting out with the classic Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Wong reveals he actually tried to play Alex first before quickly switching over to Chun-Li — so she ends up in the tier whore category.
As for Street Fighter 4, Justin feels like everyone basically overhyped Rufus and put him pretty low on the list, but Elena deserves her spot next to 3S Chun.
He also goes over dozens of more fighters from picks you may not immediately think of including Street Fighter EX 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter 5 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Mortal Kombat 2011, Street Fighter Alpha 2, King of Fighters 15, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, King of Fighters 13, Double Dragon, Street Fighter 2, Samurai Shodown, Rumble Fish, Tekken 7, Fighting EX Layer, Guilty Gear Strive, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Breakers Revenge, Killer Instinct, Darkstalkers, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and more.
One thing that is interesting to note, however, is Justin ranks the characters based on how they were while he was playing them, so even though Kung Lao got nerfed in MK9, he still puts the Shaolin fighter right up there near the top.
You can check out Justin Wong's full fighting game main tier list below as well as his video breaking down the picks — and going on a short rant about how they messed up Storm in Marvel 3.
