Evo 2023 character usage stats for Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 7, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Dragon Ball FighterZ and KOF15
This weekend was one of, if not the largest fighting game event of all time with multiple titles smashing entrant records and thousands of players from countries far and wide trying to prove they're the best.
As the action is winding down here at Evo 2023, we've gathered up the full character usage statistics at the massive tournament for Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 7, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Dragon Ball FighterZ and The King of Fighters 15.
Starting out with the second largest game at the event, Chipp was actually the most popular character out of the top 128 with 10 players maining the ninja president, but only one of them managed to reach the top 16 with Bean
Interestingly, none of the most picked fighters actually reached the top 6 with Ramlethal, May, Zato-1, and Leo failing to make the final stage.
We did see every character at least once in the upper brackets, however, the latter Season 2 DLC characters with Sin, Bedman? and Asuka were at the bottom of the list.

For the top 128 of Tekken 7, Kunimitsu was the character of the event, especially considering grand finals ended up being a mirror match with the ninja.
Some of the previous biggest threats like Akuma, Leroy, Lidia and Fahkumram didn't have much of an impact at probably the last Evo for the game interestingly.
There were 42 characters mained in the top 128 for Tekken.

If you thought Vergil would be the most popular character for UMvC3, you'd be wrong, but not far off.
Over half of top 64 had Dr. Doom on their team while 25 ad Vergil, and 17 had his brother Dante.
We did see a total of 42 different characters in top 64 though including some rare picks like C. Viper and Viewtiful Joe.

Despite her nerfs, Lab Coat Android 21 was still the most popular pick for teams in Dragon Ball FighterZ, but that didn't lead to success with her since only one of them reached the top 6.
What is a bit surprising though is seing Jiren in second place and Vegito being the only fusion in the top 5 picks.
In the top 32 for DBFZ, we ended up seeing 36 different characters in total.

Finally, we've got KOF15 where almost half of the top 32 had B. Jenet featured prominently on their teams followed by Kyo and Krohnen.
Beyond those top three, however, things were pretty well spread out with no one else going higher than 5 players.
All in all, we saw 32 main characters for the top 32 of KOF15.
