Back in late August, Masahiro Sakurai concluded daily Super Smash Bros. Ultimate screenshot routine right before unveiling his new YouTube channel, Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games. As implied by the channel's name, Masahiro Sakurai is putting forth a great deal of effort to share his knowledge and experience of game development.

It should come as no surprise to hear that Sakurai has acquired a huge number of subscribers for his new YouTube channel in a short amount of time. Needless to say, Sakurai recently shared on Twitter a little something presented to him by YouTube.

A photo of the "Silver Creator Award" plaque, presented to YouTubers who have obtained 100,000 subscribers, has been posted on Sakurai's Twitter. Notably, there's also a Kirby figurine of some sort that is seemingly presenting the silver plaque within the photo.

As of right now, Sakurai's YouTube channel has over 445,000 subscribers and is continuing to grow. Theoretically, Sakurai may end up getting the rare "Gold Creator Award" plaque, which is awarded to those that attain a million subscribers.

Ironically, Sakurai has declared that he's not seeking to make any sort of profit from his YouTube channel, so the subscriber count is really just for show. In fact, Sakurai is seemingly going out of his way to disable ads on his videos and is actually losing money since he's paying for editing and translations.

Despite it all, it seems like Sakurai is quite pleased with his new award. Check out a shot of it in the Tweet below:

In Sakurai's latest video, he talks about the conceptualization of Kirby's copy ability, an ability that persists today in games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
