Tekken 7 played on motion controls is hilarious, especially when the dashing starts...

We recently got an idea of what playing Guilty Gear Strive via motion controls might be like, and it seems a bit of a trend may be starting.

Tekken commentator and player Reepal "Rip" Parbhoo decided to see what playing Tekken 7 would be like via motion controls, and has posted a clip of his results on Twitter.

Rip took a day out of his schedule to program his copy of Tekken 7 to work with the Xbox Kinect with simplified inputs. As we see in the clip below, it actually works somewhat well (at least for simple sequences).

Tekken is known for having a surplus of moves for every one of its characters, and the fact that the battle takes place on a three dimensional plane only adds to the complexity. We're not sure if Rip's set up has the capability of moving along the Z axis as it doesn't ever happen in the footage, but we do get to see what dashing, an exceedingly common maneuver in any given round of Tekken, looks like.

In the latter part of the clip Rip turns on the heavy metal and lets down his hair as he thrashes and head bangs back and forth, causing the Kazuya on screen to dash about.

It's mostly all for fun and we have to give props to Rip for taking the time to bring this all to fruition, but one does have to wonder what a fully fleshed out version of Kinect Tekken might look like in modern times.
