The Game Awards 2022 is a gaming event that will be aired live on December 8, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. ET. As usual, we're expecting a number of fighting game announcements among the reveals during the yearly event.

Thanks to a recent Tweet by Aris, we now have confirmation that Tekken 8 will have some sort of presence at The Game Awards 2022. It would appear that Aris has been gifted something that is outright stating that he should tune in to The Game Awards 2022 event in a Tekken 8 themed box.

It seems that Aris was sent a Tekken 8 shirt. Of course, the shirt is probably a little too small for someone like Aris since he was sent a medium-sized shirt.

In the first trailer, the so called Tekken project tease was confirmed to be Tekken 8. During this trailer, Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama were both seemingly confirmed as the first two fighters for Tekken 8 as the two were seen clashing in a battle that appeared to take place immediately after Tekken 7's ending.

This year's The Game Awards presentation is shaping up to be one that fighting games will potentially remember. With this gift, we now know that Bandai Namco will have a presence at The Game Awards 2022.

Additionally, Capcom has recently begun teasing announcements once again for Street Fighter 6 after going silent for a little bit. The timing seems a little too perfect with The Game Awards 2022 about a week away.

Finally, it's believed that NetherRealm Studios may finally be ready to announce their next project — which is looking like Mortal Kombat 12 — at the upcoming event. Of course, Ed Boon's recent comment that he'll "be attending the show, but not presenting" is one that can be taken in a variety of different ways.

Assuming we're really in store for some announcements at The Game Awards 2022, we hopefully won't have to wait too much longer to find out more regarding the next generation of fighting games.
