Here's footage of the character-freezing bug Capcom just patched out of Street Fighter 5

When Capcom introduced V-Shift into Street Fighter 5, they also updated Necalli's V-Trigger 1 with a timer so that he'd no longer be locked into using his gauge in just one way. This alteration also brought with it a bug that, when triggered, would cause Necalli to freeze up, unable to perform any attacks, turn in either direction, or even perform post round win/loss animations.

Though this issue has been part of the SF5 for over a year, Necalli was somewhat rarely-used and thus it was rarely seen. Capcom was able to attend to it in the game's latest patch, but we have some footage of it in action thanks to Desk's latest upload.

The Necalli freeze bug was activated simply by performing his Opening Dagger overhead attack on the same frame that his V-Trigger 1 timer expired. As the ancient warrior's hair reverted back from insane sea anemone madness to more its more manageable dreadlock mop state, players would lose all control of him.

The match would continue on as the opponent could move freely, but until they landed an attack on Necalli, he'd be frozen in place.

Desk has explored this hiccup to see what happens when one lets the round time out while Necalli is bugged out, and found that the game locks up for a good 20 seconds since he's unable to perform his time over win or lose poses.

A failsafe will eventually kick in and force the action forward into the next round, but this is still something you don't want hanging around in your game.

Check out Desk's quick video showing this all off in game and then let us know in the comments if any of your Street Fighter 5 matches were ever affected by this freeze bug.
