Warner Bros. Interactive hit fans with a brand new official cinematic trailer for MulitVersus today, and in addition to showing off a very intriguing series of scenes that we're hoping are characteristic of its potential story mode, it reveals three new roster members.

Taz from Looney Tunes, Velma from Scooby Doo, and The Iron Giant from the film in which he shares a name are all joining the game's roster, bringing the running total to 16.

The trailer begins with Batman (voiced by Kevin Conroy) being mysteriously teleported from his Batcave to an arena where he runs into Shaggy from Scooby Doo, who has just gone through a similar experience.

Game of Thrones' Arya Stark and Looney Tunes' Bugs Bunny appear opposite the first two fighters, and the four begin to engage in a team battle as they trade advances powered by iconic special abilities.

Eventually a familiar, brown tornado appears on the battlefield and Steven Universe's Garnet pops out. The tornado continues, though, and it's revealed to be one of the three brand new roster entrants: Taz.

Taz is a bruiser type character in MultiVersus, and we get the following little graph of information on him via the game's website:

"Like the offspring of a tornado and a particularly angry electric razor, the Tasmanian Devil is a spitting, surly ball of manic energy. If you can get him to calm down, they say he’s as sweet and gentle as a kitten, but that’s a pretty big “if.” Taz has a temper that’s outmatched only by his appetite and, trust us, you don’t want to see this Devil when he’s hangry."

The chaos continues as Superman eventually lowers down to survey the scene. As he begins to say one of his most iconic lines, he's interrupted by another "Superman" of sorts, The Iron Giant. The second of three reveals in this trailer, Iron Giant is a tank type character voiced by Jon Lipow (we were also very sad to hear Vin Diesel would not be returning to his greatest role for this).

"The enigmatic, mechanical marvel nicknamed “The Iron Giant” crash-landed off the shore of Rockwell, Maine shortly after the launch of Sputnik in 1957," reads his bio. "With no memory of his past and no clear direction for his future, he was found by a young boy named Hogarth Hughes, who quickly became his best friend. Loyal and brave, the Iron Giant is a defender of the innocent and has vowed to always emulate his hero: Superman."

This widely concludes the trailer, but we do get a notice that the MultiVersus Open Beta will be coming July 2022, and as all revealed character assemble for a group photo at the end, Velma Dinkley makes a somewhat inconspicuous appearance in the lineup.

She too is headed for MultiVersus' character select screen as a support type character. "Velma has been solving mysteries since most people were still in diapers. With her insatiable appetite for answers and expert nose for knowledge, she’s the perfect mystery-solving machine.

"These days, she’s the undisputed super sleuth of Mystery, Inc., traveling with her friends to uncover criminals and bust hoaxes wherever she goes. She can sometimes get in over her head when she forgets to take her nose out of her books, but don’t underestimate her - Velma Dinkley can still kick some serious butt when she needs to."
