Multiple major titles from Capcom are planned to release before March 2023, could Street Fighter 6 be one of them?

Capcom released a brand new statement to their investors saying that they plan to release multiple major new titles before March 2023, their next fiscal year, comes to an end. Street Fighter 6 was announced on February 20, 2022 after the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 Season Final, but hasn't had a release date confirmed for it yet.

With multiple games in the Street Fighter series listed under Capcom's Platinum Titles page (Street Fighter 2 at 8th with 6.3 million units sold and Street Fighter 5 at 9th with 6.1 million units sold), it certainly stands to reason that Capcom considers main entries in the Street Fighter series as being "major new titles." This indicates a good possibility that Street Fighter 6 could be releasing before March 2023.

Capcom has a handful of major franchises with Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Street Fighter. Based on what we've seen with prior Capcom fighting games, they frequently release titles in the first quarter of the year. Notable fighting games by Capcom that were released in this window include Street Fighter 5, Street Fighter X Tekken, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and more.

Although the Street Fighter 6 trailer did not provide fans with a release window, we were promised more details this summer. As of right now, the only characters that have been revealed are Ryu and Luke.

By this point, Capcom's fighting game division is likely fully focused on Street Fighter 6 now that Street Fighter 5 has wrapped up with its final DLC character, Luke, and what could potentially be the final balance patch, the Definitive Update, according to Street Fighter 5's roadmap.

Not too long ago, we received word that Mega Man 11's producer, Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, and Bayonetta 2's director, Yusuke Hashimoto, are involved in Street Fighter 6's development. While Hashimoto confirmed that he is working on the game as a game designer, how Tsuchiya is involved is currently unknown.
