Update: Bruce Lee's family responds to reports of Fei Long no longer appearing in Street Fighter
Update: Bruce Lee's family has made a response regarding Street Fighter 5 Composer Daniel Lindholm's statements about Fei long and caricatures of Lee.
When asked for comment on Twitter, the official Bruce Lee account responded stating that Lindholm's comments about the Lee family are "entirely false."
"We never made any comments of this nature," responded Lee's Twitter account. "We have no idea who Daniel Lindholm says his 'close friends' of the family are, but his comments are entirely false surrounding the Bruce Lee Family."

During a Q&A video, Lindholm stated that "we won't see Fei Long again. Ever." because he has friends "who are very close friends with the Lee family, have basically said that any kind of resemblance to Mr. Bruce Lee is now omitted for comedic effect."
After reports of Fei Long's fate began circulating online, Lindholm removed his video from YouTube and claims that his statements were taken out of context, being hypothetical conjecture and not a matter of fact.
You can find the original story regarding the Fei Long statements below.
With Luke as the last character to join, Street Fighter 5 is ending things with a roster of 45. Of course, not every iconic street fighter managed to make it into Street Fighter 5, but we'll surely see them all again in Street Fighter 6 or another future entry, right?
According to Daniel Lindholm, composer for Street Fighter 5 (worked on the themes for Ed, Menat, Zeku, Sakura, Cody, G and more), we "won't see Fei Long again. Ever." Lindholm claims that he has multiple sources (even outside of Capcom) that have told him why this is the case.
"Friends of mine in the U.S., who are very close friends with the Lee family, have basically said that any kind of resemblance to Mr. Bruce Lee is now omitted for comedic effect," stated Lindholm. "It needs to be honorable."
Fei Long is a character that first appeared within the Street Fighter series starting with Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers. He is typically designed as a footsies-focused rushdown character that is a practitioner of Kung Fu. Fei Long's unique style of fighting is specifically known as Hitenryu, which is based on Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do.
It's been well-established that Fei Long was originally created by Capcom to pay tribute to the legendary Bruce Lee. Fei Long is one of the first characters to pay homage to Bruce Lee like this, but he is predated by Kim Dragon from World Heroes and Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat.
On the other hand, Fei Long predates Hon Fu from Fatal Fury and Marshall Law (as well as his son Forest Law) from Tekken.
"That's why we won't see Fei Long again. Ever," continued Lindholm. "It's a cool character type, but then you have Yun and these other guys from Street Fighter 3 to fill that void."
As of right now, we currently don't know which characters will be in Street Fighter 6 aside from Ryu and Luke. Based on this, however, it sounds like we can exclude the possibility of Fei Long making a return.
Then again, maybe Capcom can somehow make Fei Long into a more serious combatant to fulfill the requirements that have supposedly been established by the Lee family.
It'd be a real shame if Fei Long were somehow left out of a Street Fighter title where all other characters that debuted in Street Fighter 2 returned.
During our Talk and Block show, we talked about the possibility of Street Fighter 2 characters like Fei Long and characters from other Street Fighter entries returning in Street Fighter 6.
