JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has only grown in popularity over the last handful of years, and fans will soon have a new way to play as their favorite Stand and Hamon users.

During today's PlayStation State of Play broadcast, Bandai Namco announced JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle R will be coming to to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as well as the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year.

All Star Battle R is a new remaster of the original PlayStation 3 game that was first released back in 2013 where it found a pretty dedicated base within the fighting game community.

Interestingly, the trailer reveals the game will include 50 playable characters while the original version ended with a roster of 41 after DLC pulled from all 8 parts of the iconic manga, so there will apparently be 9 new fighters to choose from as well.

Unfortunately, they didn't reveal any of the new characters in the footage shown with the stars in the collage at the end perhaps indicating more reveals to come this year.

The game footage shown also suggests All Star Battle R is adding in a new tag-team mode / feature as well, perhaps taking a few pages from its 3D brawler follow up JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven.

While pretty much all fans applauded All Star Battle's attention to detail and fan service, there was a divide among players caused in part by the PS3 version only running at only 30 frames per second (instead of the standard 60), which left some feeling the game was not as responsive as it should be.

Releasing on PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PS5 should hopefully alleviate the frame rate issues of the past with much more horsepower, so the remaster should feel better than ever before.

With JoJo Part 6: Stone Ocean being the latest to currently receive its anime adaptation, they appear to put some extra focus on Jolyne Cujoh, Jotaro Kujo and Ermes Costello.

No solid release date was set for the JoJo remaster, but the end of the trailer confirms it'll be hitting stores sometime in early Fall 2022.
