Unused Brutalities have been discovered for Aquaman, Supergirl and Superman in Injustice 2

Injustice 2 is a game that was released by NetherRealm Studios shortly after the development for Mortal Kombat X had wrapped up. Although the Injustice series has its share of brutal moments, it doesn't really compare to the gore-fest that is the Mortal Kombat series.

However, it appears that Brutalities were actually planned for Injustice 2 at one point. Thanks to the efforts of ermaccer, we have an idea of what Brutalities would've been like for Aquaman, Supergirl and Superman.

It's important to keep in mind that the concept of Brutalities in Injustice 2 must've been scrapped fairly early into development as what has been datamined appears unfinished. You really have to use your imagination for what would've happened with Aquaman and Supergirl's Brutalities.

The idea was apparently for their Brutalities to be initiated by ending a match via their throws. We mostly get an idea of what was intended by looking at the victim animations.

From what we can tell, Aquaman was to brutally stab his opponent with his trident after flattening them on the ground. This probably would've looked similar to what Aquaman did to Gorilla Grodd during Injustice 2's story.

As for Supergirl, the opponent would've landed headfirst into the ground after her throw where she tosses them high into the sky. After everything was said and done, only the opponent's lower half would be visible as their head and torso would be burrowed into the ground.

We do actually get a lot more with Superman's Brutality as it apparently had the most work done on it. He essentially goes all out with his heat vision and repeatedly burns the opponent until they fall to the ground, presumably dead.

It might seem a bit strange for a character like Superman to go this far, but this does fit in with the storyline of the Injustice series considering how far Superman goes after the death of Lois to the Joker.

Aquaman also appears to be unbothered with the idea of killing foes during the Injustice storyline. Things are a bit different for Supergirl as she ultimately ends up siding with Batman because of her strong distaste for killing.

However, the entire storyline of Injustice is based around this idea that there are an infinite number of universes within DC Comics lore. There probably is a universe where even characters like Batman and Supergirl could be evil.

Overall, the idea of giving DC superheroes brutalities isn't exactly a new one considering that they had "Heroic Brutality" as an equivalent to Fatalities in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

It's possible this idea went a little too far as it was ultimately scrapped. Check out how they could've been like in the video below:
