The fever dream of seeing Guilty Gear and BlazBlue's protagonists do battle may soon become a reality thanks to slick new Strive mod

Yes, we can finally have Sol and Ragna compliment each other's big anime swords

Despite their similarities, Arc System Works have largely kept their two most successful original fighting game franchises, Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, largely separate from one another for well over a decade now.

That may soon be changing, however, with a slick upcoming mod created by WistfulHopes / Ryn that adds Ragna the Bloodegde as a playable character to Guilty Gear Strive.

While the mod itself isn't ready for fan consumption, Ryn has shared a handful of clips of her development progress thus far going from just Ragna standing idle in Strive to now having multiple attacks operational — although none yet using the Aramasa.

Since the hero of BlazBlue has remained basically relegated to the realm of 2D, it appears the modder has also been going through the trouble of creating a new model for ArcSys' other big sword boy.

Ragna does appear to look a bit thicker than we're generally used to seeing him, but I suppose it would make sense that adding a whole new dimension to your character also brings with it an extra pound or two.

You may also recognize Ryn for her previously impressive mods for Strive that have worked to add Sin Kiske, Order-Sol and even Dragon Ball's Goku to ArcSys' flagship fighter, so it seems she's far from done with the game yet.

Unfortunately, the work-in-progress mod doesn't have a public release date yet, but I'm sure we'll be seeing Sol Badguy and Ragna punching each other in the face soon enough.
